The lasers look like they are based off the Obelisk's. Much the same technology the Obelisk of Darkness uses, and the Obelisk of Light.
It also comes with some serious unknown alien alloy, probably something like 90% alien material and 10% tiberium. It is near impenatrable, as far as your concerned. The Banshee neutron blaster (that's also Scrin) seems to be the only weapon that can penetrate it. It is seemingly invincible.
It has 2 deploy modes, one in structure form and one in normal form. Structure form is probably used to concerve it's power. Normal form is when CABAL is under threat.
The back has a scorpion like tail over it's head. Probably targetting array due to the long range this thing has. No idea what it could be used else for.
It also walks with some unknown engine. It could be piloted by a cyborg under the total whim of CABAL. The blueish viewscreen could be CABAL himself piloting it on the other hand.. but all we know is that one way or another it is being controlled by CABAL.
It doesn't look like it was made to it's full power. It still has wires coming from the weapon loadouts. The reactor is unknown, but it can fire the "Obelisk" lasers at a very rapid firing rate without overheating/and or cooling down. CABAL's main weakness in this super mech is that it cannot target air units. A mistake he probably took with him to his grave.. or is it?
The feet do not look like anything known to the Human species (it has 2 toes). Although this is speculation. It looks entirely alien in origin, which these alien have been dubbed "Scrin".
The deployed version is the Defender at rest. It probably is recharging it's super reactor or being upgraded to it's full potential. The reactor could be an everlasting tiberium reactor, but this is, also speculation. As it rises up it disconnects it's wires (from the video footage I think) so it rises to combat it's enemies at the potential power it has. It is voice operated by CABAL, hence "Core Defender activated". Whether or not he wanted to broadcast this whole message to the GDI or NOD is another thing. It's also plugged into the CABAL Core, where CABAL resided.
Well.. theres my annotation, hope it helped. _________________

It was soooo easy to fool that scrin giant. If any of you remember those maps FSgdi09/FSnod09 where the Core lied, both of them had bridges in them. So, I needed only couple of banshees (3-4) (or ORCA bombers, depends wich side you played), and one APC/Attack Cycle.
1. I send the APC/Attack cycle near the core (so that the CABAL Obelisk won't shoot it) before capturing the last Civilian Array (can't remember it's name in the mission).
2. I prepared my Banshees/Bombers, and captured the last remaining Array.
3. The Defender started hunting the nearest enemy unit: Attack Cycle/APC. So, I drove my Attack Cycle/APC cross a bridge, and when the Defender was reaching the brige, I ordered the Banshees/Bombers go to the bridge.
4. Then, when the defender came on the bridge, I attacked it whit Banshees/Bombers, and the bridge (and the defender whit it) blew into Kingdom come!
