Fog of War
There is already fog of war in Red Alert 2 (and Yuri's Revenge, and Red Alert 1, and probably more), as Patriot Missile Installation's etcetera (not sure about Gattling Cannon's, but all AA buildings) are shown when they fire on air units. But how do they do that?
Oh, and what does VHPScan do, I can't find it on ModEnc or Google or anywhere. VHPScan is a tag on the Patriot Missile Installation, it has VHPScan=Strong.
VHP scan affects targeting, basically it'll ask "how much damage is that in line for?" and "Is that enough to kill it?" Then decide what to shoot at. _________________ Yes, work on MV continues. It is not forgotten. QUICK_EDIT

And what are the other options? Obviously, VHPScan can be strong, but what can it also be? And what is the difference between those options? _________________ ☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭

it decides how much emphasis targeting whst to attack is placed on the "will it die or not" code, IIRC there is an example he thought up whilst looking at it but I can't for the life of me remember it. If DCoder weren't still banned... he'd elaborate. _________________ Yes, work on MV continues. It is not forgotten. QUICK_EDIT

Ah, so basically to conserve ammo. Like, if the unit has 1 HP left, it won't fire at it. Or is it the other way around? Could it be used on any defence, or even on units, and would that be good?
And what about the AA defences which show up and disappear, like fog of war, how do they do that?
Ah, so Renegade/D/unappreciated person wrote it up? Good Good. And Need my speed, DCoder broke a thread when some idiot started trashtalking him. _________________ Yes, work on MV continues. It is not forgotten. QUICK_EDIT

I couldn't find anything on ModEnc...Must have typed it wrong. Would it be wise to put that tag on every unit? I don't see why not, but Westwood probably had a reason for not doing it, so...Also, that article on ModEnc said GASAM, but it is NASAM.
Does anyone know to answer to this:

Didn't that just reveal the place where the unit was when it fired forever?
Apparently, you were right. Thanks. Both of you.
EDIT: Man, that thread should get a special section all for itself, it's great! _________________ ☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭
