I've USED that badass. NAVY SEALs hold it at hip-level and fire. Army is more 'tame'. I had it up at eye level. Though for reloading you have to get back down.

I miss my M-240 up at Fort Dix...

And with most MGs you deploy the tripod and put it on the floor to fire, or they on the back of a vehicle

I can't be sure because I've never played the beta but I think the difference is in the type of gun+it's detailing and the shadows

The difference is in the gun, and there might be a tiny bit more detail on the Conscript himself, but that's just me.

@Gangster
just curious...
if you did this in 3d...is it possible to make a flamethrower version of it? just adding fueltank at the back and change the gun #Tongue

The conscript SHP was originally meant for a Tesla Trooper(hence his blue-ish tint when he fires the gun.), then it became a flame trooper briefly(the final Conscript cameo, anyone?), before he became the standard Soviet grunt.

And dude, a PpSH hsa AWFUL recoil. same with the MG-240. I would take an Ak over the M-16, though. M-16 r teh suxx0rz

It really depends where you want to use the rifle to be fair. The AK is much better in close quarters, like jungle warfare. However the M-16 is better at long ranges as the AK is quite inaccurate so in open area the M-16 is better. It is also better in Urban combat.
If you're gonna pull out the card of the fact that they jammed loads in Vietnam, that's 'cause none of the soldiers were given cleaning kits for their rifles.
The AK is much cooler though Smile

To be fair you should all shut up about guns. This isn't a gun thread afterall.

Nice SHP. Hope to see more, indeed a flamethrower version would rock.

Sorry about reviving old post but I found the way to do this so everyone could do it easily instead of working manually.

First make a copy of the infantry for backup, open up the shp file, replace color 12 with color 0 using the color replacement tool. Open up the backup shp, replace everysingle color except for color 12 with color 0, then replace color 12 with color 1 (1 is the shadow color).

Now you have both the shadow and the infantry, goto the one without the shadow and goto the "double" frame (The grey scale one). Goto the shp that has the shadow of the infantry, copy the frame, then paste it in the grey scale frame, it'll not overwrite the frame because it doesn't really exist, and the shadow should line up perfectly. Preview the frame by using the View button on the tool bar and Preview, it should now have a blue shadow. Repeat the copy shadow to grey scale steps to finish.

Note that when I said replace I meant for EVERY frames.

I know about way suggested by Medusa. I have had a transpariend shadows like that (done with recolor) in my private mod... but.. i did a remake later (images you see above) to match a beta infantry (where shadow is not a spot under boots but a cool transparient shadow with right direction from global lighting) Smile

EDIT:

BTW if any one interested i can suggest a method how to do shadow transparient. Open SHP with SHP Builder.. replace black color (12) with green (8 or 7.. cant recall corectly).. Open XCC Micer.. Covert SHP to PNG Frames...(if you remember XCC Mixer does do a frames with compined shadow ... with green color).. and now convert all frames back to SHP. That is all. Its will take you 3-4 minutes per SHP. Good Luck.

I'm picking up Gangster's work, here's the allied attack dog:
Desolator's coming up next, when I got a screenshot I'll post it.
Sorry if the quality is slightly lower than those of Gangster's but I'm only working on these with spare time.

Interesting, good to see someone picking up Gangster's noble work. I don't mind the quality at all; more people should only work on their mods in their spare time, less stress that way.
