Use GMAX with RenX. It does work for Generals too (not restricted to Renegade).

The original buildings are on W3D.big (In your Generals or ZH directory). The textures are on texture.big.

You can open .big files with Final BIG, at http://www.wagnerma.de

You can open .big files with XCC Mixer... I do it all the time to get music from generals.

Yea, XCC Mixer also opens .big files. But, honestly, the loading time of the program takes so much that I prefer Final BIG, that also shows the models (unskinned, yea).
