Subject description: how do i reset the resolution on the game
Reply with quote  Mark this post and the followings unread

before anyone starts to giggle too loud, as i mentioned before, i am computere illiterate....

my clansmen and me have enjoyed the ROTD single missions, skirmish, and especially multiplayer. but we are a bunch of old dinosaurs (we are all over 50), and the small units are difficult to see

is there anyway to change the resolution? i seem to recall that the C&C DOS game was zoomed in vs the C&C Win95 that was zoomed out. is there a middle setting?

any help is appreciated.

Errmmm... Okay...

I don't have ROTD installed at the moment, but did you try taking a look at the options? I believe 640x480 (or something like that) is the minimum. And... If that's too small for you, you really need to get glasses Razz

In the RotD main menu there are Options. Go there, and there you can find Display. Select this, and you'll have three different resolutions to chooce from. I'm not sure what of them was the smallest, but you can try each one of them...

I've found something. In the Dwn.ini file, you will find:
[Intro]
PlaySide00=no
PlaySide01=no

[MultiPlayer]
PhoneIndex=-1
Color=0
Side=GDI
Handle=TSA
Locale=0
StoreNick=yes
LastNickSlot=-1

[Options]
GameSpeed=0
Difficulty=1
ScrollMethod=0
ScrollRate=0
AutoScroll=yes
DetailLevel=2
SidebarCameoText=yes
UnitActionLines=yes
ToolTips=yes

[Video]
ScreenWidth=800
ScreenHeight=600
StretchMovies=no

[Audio]
SoundVolume=0.700000
VoiceVolume=0.700000
ScoreVolume=0.700000
IsScoreRepeat=no
IsScoreShuffle=no
SoundLatency=9

[Network]
Socket=65535
NetCard=0

[SerialDefaults]
CallWaitStringIndex=3
InitStringIndex=-1
DialMethod=T
Baud=-1
IRQ=-1
Port=0h
Compression=0
ErrorCorrection=0

Under the [Video] section:
[Video]
ScreenWidth=800
ScreenHeight=600
StretchMovies=no

Change the ScreenWidth to 480 and the ScreenHeight to 640. 640x480 is the smallest there is.

you can make it 640x400 for real C&C95 experience ^_^

(if your monitor supports the resolution)
