This my Kodiak

i have no really good purpose for the ship ingame, but still think it looks good. Maybe you use it as a special mission goal thing. A quite extensive discussion how this could be used already took place at the Kodiak thread on tiberiumsun.com

this unit comes in some different versions according to different remap places on the unit.
the first is a try to come as close as possible to the shp version and has the same remap locations. (sorry the preview picture is in gdi only)

the second is with some alternative remap locations someone told me on tiberiumsun.com that they would be better (i agreed). For this a very BIG version is available too (the biggest size a vxl unit can be).

as always use it as you want, but credit me if you release a mod with it.

WOOOOOW absolutely Amazing!!!! It's GREAT! it rules!!! Cool Commander 'Mack' Mcneil and his Kodiak can finally experience the combat personally! I'll bet this voxel would do perfectly in new campaigns where Mcneil and his crew can come up-close-and-personal with the nod troops Smile

I suddenly got inspired to continue the Nod warships Ive been doing!

Why would you give the kodiak a weapon? It's a flying command centre.. it doesnt have any weapons.

Its decent...I was expecting bigger, as the thing would be bigger then a Conyard anyway. Rolling Eyes

I'm amazed..
I've seen voxel attempts at the Kodiak before, but I couldn't stand any of them.
This one, is perfect. And, you've got 2 different sets of remaps, its brilliant!
This is one of the best voxels I've ever seen, its almost perfect compared to the shp, well done!

Spotlighting this one in a flash!

And Von, its based on the shp, to which this one is the same scale, and in my opinion is the best. It doesn't *need* to be bigger.
But if you did want to make it bigger, the way you can counter the 255 limit, but requires quite a bit of work, is to break up the voxel into different sections, and then shape them up together with the hva builder.

But I really don't think this is necessary, I think the bigger version is big enough, and the shp-scaled one is perfect.

at tumsun we discussed whether it should be able to call in airstrikes.

i think it would be able this way (not sure) :
fires invisible projectile at speed=100.
explosion animation does not only show the explosion itself, but also the elite orca bombers (with new "smart" bombs) flying towards the target and dropping down hell.
RotD airstrip-style.
only thing that isnt perfect is the fact the enemy will be damged when the projectile hits, not when the explosion hits.
so, is there anyway to make the explosion anime seperate and play when the bombs hit their target, allowing the explosion anim to deal damage?

This is obviously not an attempt to highlight this voxel to the forum idiot.

Plus I'll get this when my PC is back in service.

Damn, Albrecht, you necroed a 2~3 year old thread? Wrong thread? #Tongue Okay, I'll be tame, was kiddin' #Tongue

It still looks quite the same as the .SHP, though. Maybe if there was a way to "mirror" the Kodiak's image and form both sides of it...

what do you mean with " "mirror" the Kodiak's image"? The SHP?
Do you want a 2x4 foundation instead of the 4x2 one? In this case it isn't possible because a 2x4 foundation doesn't exist.
