<offtopic> "john" and "jon" are actually diferent names. Both are Biblical:
John-more well known came from both John the Baptist and John the apostle

Jon- short for Jonathan (whereas John is short for nothing - just "John")
Jonathan was King David's best friend, He helped David escape from King Saul b/c the king was jealous of David..
