06/08/07, 17:34:58 : done initializing, seconds taken : 0.520
06/08/07, 17:36:17 : done 6340 frames , seconds taken : 78.283, average / second : 80.988
Still getting decent results on Linux, always a good thing. I'm not sure what shaders can be done with current OpenGL, is it up to Shader 3.0?

you people that are getting around 80 FPS reported, do you by any chance have your monitor refresh rates set to 80?

if you ever figure out how to switch on pixel shaders in OpenGL then please let me know because i've already completely designed my pixel shaders and a few people here know i'm not talking nonsense.

No, my refresh rate is 60Hz and I have Vsync off. That's merely because it's Linux with the open-source ATI drivers, I do better in Windows:

06/08/07, 23:43:54 : done initializing, seconds taken : 0.698
06/08/07, 23:44:19 : done 7580 frames , seconds taken : 24.421, average / second : 310.389

Like I said, open-source ATI drivers. They aren't the official ones. I'd probably get 2-3 times faster with the proper ATI ones but I'd miss out on the lovely features of the texture_from_pixmap OpenGL extension.

OpenGL had shader 4.0 support sooner than DX 10 was released afaik.
I never used shaders so no idea, but there are a lot of shader tuts on NVidia site (even with GLSL, I think), and I think you'll find "how to swich on"
in OpenGL 2.1 specification (OpenGL.org)
and definitely here: http://www.humus.ca/index.php?page=3D
There are a lot of both DX and OGL demos with sources, most using shaders there, look for the older, simpler ones.

Man, read stuff before you post.
This is not a mod.
AFAIK Judeau is still working on this. Programming an engine takes some time.
