Very nice units. How'd you shut off the remap on them? The base seems to lack remap, and it looks quite nice. :3

It seems like modders are doing what they used to do with Westwood's voxels to EA's models: Completely overthrow them, graphically #Tongue (and I mean it)

I see your also using the cinematic APC Smile

Very nice work with your models, but I think they look a bit to brutal for GDI, especially the mammoth looks more like a soviet tank from Red Alert. Nevertheless, nice work!

btw, did you found a w3x importer or how did you changed the propeller for the orcas?

The models look nice, though perhaps a bit over-detailed.

The only problem is that I have the feeling that I've seen some of it before. I instantly recognized many of the new parts from other models in cnc3, which makes it all a bit less impressive to me.

I am using model parts from the GDI Defensive Structures and the cinimatics units for "Detailing" and I intend to release these models here for those who might have a use for it.

If you're going to release these, you might consider releasing them as an open source mod, with your coding. To help people add them to their own personal mods. Just a thought. Wink

Either way, I like them, they look good.

Cheers,

Wow, those tanks are very impressive. They seem more real, more brutal to me, which I find very fitting for GDI.
Though I like the Orca as well, it seems a bit unfitting to the other models. The texture appears to lack contrast and the specular map is too weak.

I used Normal Map shader only for the orca, i have updated it now with more contrast and specularity. It matches the color tone of the other GDI Units. As for the APC, its also updated now. i'll be posting/uploading them one by one with codes here by next week. Just needs more polishing and testing.

I wanted to have something prepared in advance for the upcoming release of Kane's Wrath. Something that has some nearer semblance to the Mammoth shown in the intro cinimatics of the 1st GDI Mission. So here is my near-final version of the Mammoth Tank;

I say: release them when they are ready! They look very good. Smile And we could use some more TW modders here at PPM... Also, while your busy, can you please fix the odd tracks of the predator (the back part).

How did you modify the APC and Harvester? They weren't included in the released art packs.
(3DRipperDX?)

3D Object Converter can convert extracted model files to 3ds. I had extracted the Pitbull, Predator, Mammoth, & Orca and converted them to W3D for Generals well before the SDK was released. The only problem is the program has to be purchased to do it.

Cheers,

Rebelmoon

It was requested that i try to fix the Predator. So i removed the awkward looking and tilting rear tracks and replaced it with a cloned part from the front tracks. I also have to replace the locomotor with a modified mammoth locomotor to match the new design. So here it is;

That's cool, but when you do release these, can you include the un-altered track version as well. I'm partial to it. Wink

Cheers,

Wow nice work. Have you considered (or even heard of) the new shader that enable scrolling normal-mapped treads?

This doesn't put EA to shame at all. He just placed other EA assets ontop of EA assets.
