You can now preview all sections together.
I've uploaded another version of VXLSE III in the SVN few minutes ago. It fixes the way it loads HVA files, which allows it to preview acurately all voxels together. At least the Mammoth MK2 and the RA2 Nighthawk Transport perfectly. The rendering code was also quite optimized.
In comparison to 1.37, this version doesn't simply allow you to show the whole model, but it also has an improved autonormals, which might get some work in the next days.
If you have any beta of 1.38 or the version 1.37, replace your vxlse_III.exe with THIS to use the latest features.
And VXLSE III will receive a lot of work in the next months, since my final project in the university will be about voxel modelling and rendering techniques. So, I'll work a lot on auto normals and make it render the model in a cooler way. QUICK_EDIT

my crystal ball tells me there excist activety near VSE III, and it was correct! As soon as I get a stable internett, I will download this, test it (the AN) and check if it gives better results.
BTW, is this part of your school porject?

School and university are different things here.
But, yea, it is part of my university final project, as I said above.
Anyway, I've uploaded another revision which fixes the final process of the auto normals (tangent), which disappears with 99% of the 'black pixels' that you used to see with it.
But I must admit that the tangent plane autonormals will still be more perfected.

The new AN 8.1 is less bad I still cann't say it's good... Try it on my new tank Good luck It has round shapes, pipes and different flat angels. The current normals isn't the best normals I could give it, but as the AN 7.1 don't like pipes above other parts of the voxel, The current had to do. So I'm still sticking to AN 5.6 _________________ This is a signature QUICK_EDIT

Sorry, but I think it is damn great. To be honest, AN8.2 (next revision should bring this name) is the best auto normals on your chemical tank. It is quite smooth, but not as smooth as AN 5.6 at the pipes and other rounded shapes. However, at the flat borders, it is flat, unlike AN 5.6. The best autonormals is the one that is rounded where it is supposed to be rounded and flat where it is supposed to be flat. AN 5.6 is rounded everywhere. It is rounded at the borders of the body, rounded at the track of the tank.
AN 8.2 is far from being perfect. It still fails in the borders, by choosing to point the normal to one of the sides, instead of trying to get a compromise, like what AN 5.6 does. But it is already great at this stage. QUICK_EDIT

AN 5.6 is very good, because you can make it do whaterver you want. AN 8. (and 8.2?) you can only change range... And one more thing, test:
AN 7.1
Ran=2,2
Smooth=15
Contrast=20
And, as I have saied earlier, it still looks dead compared to AN 5.6 and 7.1 Make it a bit more "relfective" _________________ This is a signature QUICK_EDIT

The result of AN7.1 with this settings is visualy interesting on the chemical tank, but the tracks get a bit too much smoothed (making them somewhat artificial).
Anyway, AN 8.2 doesn't have the choices you see on AN 5.6, because it does most of it automatically, including the selection of the range for each volume pixel, although you still determine the maximum range. The smooth and contrast options in the older ANs are multipliers made to twist the result, because the original result is either too much smooth or too much hard. QUICK_EDIT

well then, give me controll over the "auto-features" Just look at cameras, the auto can do a good jobb, but the realy great results is when you can adjust every setting and tweak it intil you hit that sweet spot So, give me control! And as a side note: AN 5.6 is crap with standar settings, but with a little magic... _________________ This is a signature QUICK_EDIT

With your little magic, it is still crappy with the Kirov (much more smoothed than what it is supposed to be)
But, I want a method scientifically correct, not scientifically twisted, which is why I won't add settings that twist the result. Also, the smooth level is completely incompatible with the Tangent Plane method.
The neighboor pixels selected for each pixel is no longer fully controlled by the range due to the nature of the technique. It is part of it to select the face related to each volume pixel. QUICK_EDIT

The kirov isn't a great voxel, as it has got plenty of holes! And with magic, I mean different values! And if your 8,2 has no numbers to tweak, then how to make it fit 95%+ on every tank it has to normalize? Some options should be at least selectable, as "Is generaly Smooth" for curvey/bubbley units. But then again, I have yet to try the 8,2 _________________ This is a signature QUICK_EDIT
