As i was peering through my scope, many discractions had caught my attention.
On the left side of the wasteland, was a squad of GDI mechs, thumping, with their massive tracks or legs, towards what was on my '11 o'clock'.
At that angle, was a small Nod outpost, it didn't look like much, apart from the odd shaped shrine in the middle. Seeing as nod seemed like a bunch of religious freeks to me, it was little suprise.
Further on was a city, it was a massive one too. Sky scrapers were a uncomon sight these days, most of them tumbled over from being hit by Tiberian meteors, Gunfire, Bombs and dominoe buildings. The city had one of those.
It didn't look to defended, i saw some gdi soldiers, but that was common, defending a city from 'Religious kooks'.

( and ) Noscoper using a SCOPE?

"Ah, its a fine day out, don't yah think so?"

"Oh yes. Gawd I love the crystals, so potent, so tasty."

"I could use a damn fine meal myself. I'm going to the hand."

"Woh, hold on a sec Dean. Heheh we can't just leave the guard post, at least not the guy with the gun, eh? Let me go in. I'll need your key card though, but I can grab whatever the hell you want."

"... why don't I just give you the gun?"

"Trust me, I'm not the greatest shot, unlike you and your fine skills, with the gun, and its scope."

"Man, I've been standing here all day, I gotta-"

Suddenly Dean couldn't do ANYTHING, not 1 part of his body could respond to his commands. Then he was falling, head over heels. He hit the ground, and could see his... boots...

*Sigh*"Should have agreed with me."

Then Dean was ascending, above his boots, past his kneecaps, past his body, up to were his head should be.

"Well I be praised. Thats a new record for me."

Now Dean's view was turned back and slightly up, and he saw the guy who he just met. That guy was holding him; his head.

"No worries, brother. I'll just put you back together, there we go. You know what? I will take that gun off your- er off the ground."

He put Dean's head back on his body, were he had a decent view of the Hand of Nod, the concrete walls, and that crazy and yet beautiful red sky.

"Oh, heh. I almost forgot."

The new guy went to get the key card from Dean's pocket. He did so very carefully, not wanting to disturb the odd balance that miraculously kept Dean's body up right.

"Peace out bro. Peace out through POWER! Hahahahhloch- *Cough* Erhm, ehm."

After pointing and laughing at him, the new guy composed himself, and turned and walked casually to the Hand of Nod.

5 minutes past. Before fading to death, Dean cursed the new guy for not turning his body & head, or at least his head towards the front of the base, where he could at least watch for GDI. Word was there were Titans and other GDI forces attempting to find the base, and the shrine, that holy place.

- - -

"This has got to be the sharpest knife I've ever known. I hope the dealer's still alive."

The automatic front doors of the Hand of Nod opened, and the new guy entered.

Noscoper watched on to the madness. "Lucky i ain't that guy." he snickered.
Suddenly i was disturbed by a ringing in my ear.
I looked away from the scope, and saw the observation tower I was stationed in was on fire, falling apart even.
I got up and ran out, shaking what flames caught a ride with me off.
As i looked around, i saw a parked attack cycle, next to me.
I tried to run, but quickly dropped to the ground, with a sharp pain in my head.
I turned my body over and saw a Nod chameleon spy laughing. "Shiner eh? whatcha doing this close to nod boy? Hahaha!".
I went unconsious for a while, waking up in a isolation cell.
As i tried to get out of a chair i was sitting on, i couldn't move, i was locked into it.
The door opened in front of me, and some soldier was staring me in the face.
"So, what's yer name son?" this nod soldier asked.
"...Cpl noscoper." i whispered back, trying to hide my face.
"Shiner, i didn't ask for some crap codename, i want your name NOW!" he screamed.
"Chet Cooper. happy?" i replied, awoken by his yell.
"Good boy, now tell us... what are you doing way out here?" i was asked. As i was to reply, a violent shake, rocked the building. The alarms went off, and soldiers were running to and fro, some saying a bomb went off.
"Can i go now?" i asked.

***********Several minutes before the bomb went off*

"God, Satan, Kane, dammit, son of a bitch, open you mother ztyper,"

*BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM!*

The guy started pounding the locker; not a single dent. Hell, not even a tiny scratch - NOTHING at all to indicate even the slightest amount of contact, at all. That's Nod engineering for you. Well, Nod's good professional engineering.

"A PLAGUE ON YOUR HOME, stupid locker... wait a minute-'

He started rummaging through his pockets and light backpack.

"Don't I have like a- ahh, HA!"

He held before him a shiny 4x4 inch square object in the palm of his left hand, the hand with a missing index finger nail; in the original nail's place, a high tech metal nail; yes, I am that descriptive. Anyways, the object he holds is a prototype, lined with red patterns.

Relaxing a bit, the guy declares his joy of this find:

"Bingo!"

"Did you say..."

Now the guy tenses up, does a quick 180 spin.

"What I think you said?"

"..."

The guy kind of nods his head, more in confusion than acknowledgment.

"Kane unite us! Please brother, you MUST tell me how you have won this seemingly impossible game!"

The questioner takes a couple steps forward, clenches his fists.

"No, not seemingly, DEFINITELY impossible. I have yet to come even close to winning! How is it that someone I've never seen before, which must mean you're a recruit, wins so fast? A recruit, a newb!"

The guy ponders for a nanosecond.

"Uh, well I do it with my eyes closed."

The questioner grasps the newb, causing him to drop the device. As he does this and as it falls:

"Of course! Mercy me, I've always known it to be so! I have to be one with the game-"

A flash of light, and the questioner splits in half, both sides falling to the ground.

The guy was startled, then he looked down and saw the device - when it had hit the ground, right below the questioner's body, it deployed, and emitted a powerful concentrated laser, and, well, it was aimed upwards.

The guy looked down at the questioner's two halves.

"So that's what that device does."

The guy noticed that the questioner had many implants, so the guy assumed he was a test subject. Since he's probably been subjected to many powerful toxins, the guy thinks it's understandable why he acted so strange - he shook his head; there's only one man I'd trust for implants, he thought. He really hoped that dealer was indeed still alive.

... Or perhaps the questioner just really liked Bingo. Poker's a more popular time waster game. In fact, the guy does not remember any Hand of Nod or GDI barracks which he hung out in were the soldiers played Bingo on their down time.

"Bunch a ztyping weirdos."

Then, *BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!*

"GAAAAAAAAAH!"

The guy's vision went white, pain racked his body, he felt like was floating for a bit, then more pain.

As his hearing came back, chaotic noises were heard; alarms, shouting, thumping, etc. As his vision cleared, he saw an opening which didn't exist prior to the explosion; yes it had to have been an explosion.

He got up from the floor, saw that he was further down the narrow hall; the opening used to be the wall on the right side, the locker side.

He limped over to the opening; said opening allowing access to all of the contents previously locked up; all the locker doors disintegrated.

He took the final steps towards the only locker he's interested in (stepping on the now ruined device) - the locker that had a ztype OFF in German text stamp on it.

*Panting*

"Whell, it hutz now...*Pant*"

Stepping in the locker, he reached down and picked up a shiny bundle of green.

"... but not fer laong...*Pant*heh..."

He then started to eat the green.

Munching away at the crunchy crystals, he began to feel that very comforting and pleasant and at the same time energizing feeling. After the first three swallows (ha! swallows... lol), the pain from the explosion started to fade away. His own augmented organs started to process the energy contained within the green, glorious green.

Before he new it, his body was well on its way to normalcy and beyond, and the pain all but vanished. Plus he started talking normal again.

"THANK YOU SCRIN!!!"

(A nod soldier eating tiberium in TS? (I didn't post the timeframe, oh well.) ).
The interogater was crushed by the roof colapsing in, nearly killing me with it. the keys to the chair locks were on his belt, just within the reach of my legs, but how can i reach it with boots on?
Suddenly a tiberian crystal rips through my boot, slightly bloody, as if it had ripped out of my toe. I reach the for the keys, and caught them on my newly formed shard.
I unlocked myself, and got out of the seat.
I ran through the isolation block, and ran into a single Nod soldier, looking at me in confusion.
"Err. Right, how did you get out?" he questioned, i walked out of his way and he saw the colapsed roof.
"Umm... Err... Whatever..." He mumbled.
As i ran out, i found a hole in the wall that i climbed through, it lead me out, into the open air.
As i look around, i saw a hand of nod, smoking, burning. a refinary, leaking. A singular gate, ripped apart to see that GDI was closing in at a fast pace.
"Oi shiner, what the hell do you think your doing?!" someone yelled in the shadows.

The Nod base was in ruin. It seemed that someone had infiltrated it and rigged all of the major structures with explosive explosives (what better way to describe explosives?). Smoke choked the air, somewhat blocking that insanely cool looking red sky.

The Nod soldiers were mobilizing, going to defensive positions. Most of the shouting had died down, and now the majority of the soldiers had a cool sense of confidence & control, weapons ready, pilots getting into vehicles. There may be some aircraft standing by as well.

Most of that activity took place in the front of the base. Meanwhile, in a back alley between some research buildings, kinda looked like standard office buildings:

*Panting, frantic running.*

This guy's just so damn fast!

*Whack!*

"AWH!"

*Hits the ground face first. Suddenly, he gets flipped right side up, then intense pressure on his neck; he cannot breath.*

"Well, you tried."

The person under pressure tried lashing out at his shady attacker, but all his limbs just hit open air.

"Aw, settle down. I'm behind you!"

He tried twisting, turning around, to no avail.

A flash of metal slashed down towards his arm. Piercing pain now flooded his left wrist/hand/forearm; that limb went down, and stayed down. No worries, I still have my right - arrrgh. ztype, I can't move that one either.

Then the attacker, keeping one foot firmly placed on this person's neck, stomped with his other foot on his stomach, and reached down towards his legs - and now both ankles became flooded with more pain. God dammit I hate pain, he thought.

The attacker moved back out of view, except for his boot which still stood on this person's neck. This person is now completely immobilized, all four limbs stuck with VERY sharp and long knives, which went through the wrists/ankles, and into the dirt ground. He tried to wrench free, but the pain was just too much. His vision is starting to fade.

Then, finally, a release; the pressure on his neck gone.

*Gasp. Deep breathing*

*Pant.**Pant.*"Ha! You... think... you're, hurting me? *Pant* The damage, has been done, and this... abomination... of a place... will, be wiped, off the face, of the sickened, wasted... *PANT* EARTH!."

The attacker doesn't respond immediately.

The person, no longer under pressure, continued to breath deeply. He could only see smoke, the red sky, and a portion of the top of one of the structures.

"Aren't you a little over zealous for a GDI soldier?"

*Pant*"This.. is nothing."

"Really? Well, tell me if this is something."

Yet more pain is felt, this time, in his stomach. The attacker appears, holding another knife (how many goddamn knives does this guy have!?), and he slices open the person's stomach. The person tries to hold it in, but he can't; so he yells out in frustration.

With his stomach open, the attacker takes out a green crystal (WITH His bARE HANds!), and.... does nothing....

"Wait, hold on a sec...."

He puts it back in his pocket, and replaces it with a blue crystal. He then faces the person for the first time, before the person only caught glimpses of his attacker's limbs and back. The person glared back in absolute hatred, but he noticed his attacker wasn't dressed in a Nod uniform. A shiner? No, he doesn't look mutated at all. Who the hell is this guy?

After staring at the person for a second, the attacker suddenly shoves the blue crystal into the opened stomach, directly into the stomach acids. He then takes out a strange looking device, about 3x3 inches, oval trapezoid shaped, black in colour with green & orange patterns on it. He holds the device in front of the person.

"This is Nod reverse engineering at it's best."

He shoves the device in the person's stomach, and activates it. The person starts to feel tremendous amounts of a different kind of pain, combined with a whoosy feeling, like when you're about to throw up, only with a dash of electricity.

"If there's one thing I like about GDI, it's their disruptor tech, even though it could mean the end of tiberium. So, how does this feel? Eh? EH?"

"AaaaAAAGH@!1 FUUUUCK!!!!"

The blue crystal reacted to the device by exploding, blowing the person apart from within, ending his short, but important role in this latest GDI attack on Nod.

The upper part(S) of the person's body flew in the air (I don't mean above the belt line, I mean he's lying down, right? So, picturing him like that, imagine the part of his stomach closest to the sky, the top part, know what I mean?), and landed several feet away. All that remained was the person's back and the organs which were furthest away from the front of his belly, plus his spine, and his limbs which were still stuck in the ground.

- - - - -

The guy lit up a tiberian cigar. He pulled out the knives from the ground, stashed them in their sheaths, and flipped the GDI infiltrator's remains over. He took off his back pack, and started rummaging through the contents. He found some money... probably poker money, as well as some energy discs used by GDI disc throwers.

After pocketing his new found things, he dropped the backpack, and took a long drag from his cigar.

"Cool."

(yeah, another roleplay Very Happy. Hope it ends better than mine #Tongue)
(eva blue, other soldiers/command green)

Welcome back Commander
You have an new objective. GDI Command will brief you.

We all know you are still bitter at your last mission's catastrophic end, but here is your chance to redeem yourself. Escort the MCV, pront, evac civilians, and only engage Nod when absolutely necessary.

We don't have the full force arriving for a long while, so stealth is key. Being discovered will jeopardize your mission, so avoid confrontation for as long as possible. You also will have to utilize wolverines and hover MLRS, as titans and your MMKII flagship are tall and noisy, and you'd be spotted in a second.

Also note: We already have some forces there, they may have discovered something, but they say they lost they're radio.

For all we know, they might have already found Nod or Mutants.
Make contact.

Primary Objective: Set up a small base for a dropship, and rescue civilians from the nearby town
Secondary Objective: Remain Undiscovered until main force
Tertiary: Recon, and find the few GDI alraedy there

Command received. En-route.
God only knows the horrors we'll face this time.

A brilliant white glow fills a nearby valley, lighting up the bare rock and scorching what vegetation clung to the earth.
"Commander? I think we're back"
"At least this time we're prepared, deploy the beacon and set up the watchers."
"Wilco, we've detected combat a short distance from here, maybe 15 minutes by tank. Is any action required?"
"Positive, deploy a UAV"
"On its way, the beacon will be armed in roughly one hour sir, until then it's us and Gamma troop"
"This is a great day, soldier. Finally we are back to reclaim what is ours, these humans are but squabbling children. The fear us, say we rained tiberium from the sky, soon they will call us the scrin. How wrong they are. How right #3563574 was."
"#3563574, sir?"
"They call him Einsten, maybe with his originating chemical we can improve some of these small minds. They communicate in our dialogue, they even call it English like us; the character set must be imprinted in our brains, shame they spell Laser with a Z, even greater shame they're primitive enough to need them. They had the keys to ending this squabble long ago, they just kept looking for a bigger key, regardless of the size of the hole."

Nod managed to counterattack the GDI surprise assault. Hell, they have nothing to lose, their base is pretty much destroyed. They are pretty damn good soldiers (the actual soldiers, that is), I'll give them that. So now the task force and the base troops are locked in battle. Good.

- - -

Two GDI rifle soldiers were laying down suppressive fire for their comrades. One soldier emptied his clip on an exposed Nod soldier.

"Nice."

"Reload!"

He ducked for cover, fumbled for the ammo, locked it in, came back up, peered down the sights - and died; bullet to the face. A grenade came sailing into their cover.

"Ah, shit."

With the suppressive team killed, the advancing GDI infantry were traveling on open ground, no cover in sight (save for some concrete warehouse buildings, but they weren't in the direction) with only a medic for support, who had injected the team with a stimulant. But stimulated as they were, they were no match for a well hidden Nod sniper, high above the battlefield.

"And 1,"

The leading rifle soldier dropped.

"and 2,"

A grenadier armed with the new disc launcher went down, despite her attempt to get to that building.

"and 3, and 4, aaaand one morrrre, riight, about, nn..... nn.... *sigh* Stop moving you panicky douche; die already-"

A flash of light partially blinded the sniper.

".. ztype."

Then his world went dark. Down below:

"Need a hand?"

"Thanks man; I thought I was done for."

Luckily for the medic, a recon team wearing camouflage had crept close to the building the sniper was hiding in, the same building the grenadier was going for; they tossed a flash bang.

Right as the medic recomposed himself, he spotted Nod soldiers priming grenades - before he could even open his mouth, the recon team yanked him behind the side of the building, the 'nades detonating harmlessly (well, the wall got chipped...).

One recon member had a disc launcher. While not moving from cover, he ejected a disc, and chucked it in a curve, sending it flying around the wall corner and towards the Nod soldiers.

"Where did you get that!?" Yelled another recon member.

"Found it!"

"GO!" Commanded the leader.

A recon member somersaulted out of cover, came up to a crouch, and sprayed his pulse rifle at the Nod soldiers; the rest of recon team & the medic (who is now part of the group; he's got a pistol) also engaging their enemy. They defeated them.

"Get back!" The team instinctively backpedaled.

"DUCK!" They did as instructed.

A large explosion shook the ground - a tank shell, which luckily landed just before the team. The team scattered back behind the wall.

"Doc, you got any of that juice left?"

"You betch' your ass I do. Here, plenty for all."

He handed out syringes.

"GET FOCUSED!"

"Sweet. How many have you had?"

"Eh. Lost count."

Another tank shell landed near by.

"Must be a Tick Tank. Alright, follow me. Move fast or die."

"Affirmative".

The team leader went backwards a bit, then scrambled to a destroyed watch tower directly adjacent to the cover building.

"Spotters, follow me. Everyone else, move down the hill, but not too far. Cover our backs."

"Got it."

The leader ascended the stairs within the tower, up to the halfway point were the structure ended.

"Goggles."

He took a pair of goggles, and cautiously peered out. He could see the Nod forces had actually went around the side of the base, and came up from behind the GDI forces. Now, GDI was split up, half in the base, the other half scattered outside of it. Actually most if not all forces, were a scattered mass of troops and some tanks & walkers. Still no sign of aircraft.

He spotted the lone Tick Tank slowly approaching an entrenched GDI force, repairing a Titan, which had lowered it self and its profile; it's leg probably needed repairs. The leader noticed the Tank would soon be close to the watch tower... close enough for something crazy, but cool.

"Thank god I saved this anti-everything explosive charge."

"... you had one the entire mission?"

"Yep."

"Then we could have taken out that other tank!"

"Huh?"

"You know! The one that ran over bravo! What the hell man? Now I'll never see Jim again-'

"Hold that thought! Here comes the tank."

( and ) Continued from my previous post.

The recon team leader was SHAKING IN his BOOTS. Nah, not really, although he was nervous.

"Spotters... cover me."

"Huh?"

The leader stood up and half jumped. Sailing through the air, time seemed to slow down (classic stuff, maaaan). Unholy crap, I think I'm gonna make it! he thought. This is one for the epic stories of accomp-

*THUMP*

He landed just behind the tank, on top of a Nod soldier (who was using the tank as cover), knocking him down. The leader took out his knife and finished the job. Damn, he thought. Almost! The tank was getting away ever so quickly. Wasting no more time the leader ran up to the back of the Tick Tank, planted the explosive, set the charge for 30 seconds, and booked it back to the tower.

- - - -

Listening to this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ed3ZQU_mnnQ&feature=related

, the Tick Tank driver was on a killing spree... and yet, he was dead calm, focused on surviving. He learned early that to live is to win; the kills then come naturally. He loved listening to the recently discovered classics of Metal... back in the day they called it death metal, as it was apparently heavier than what was considered Metal. Now, its the only type of metal.

After adjusting the local radar jammer, custom installed, through the view panel he caught a glimpse of a blue visor-ed helmet - pull the trigger, dead. More GDI soldiers are spotted - unleash the machine gun. Not a single survivor. One of the soldiers practically exploded.

"Ha HAAA!!!? Gawd, I love them Tiberium Core bullets, yyeees!"

The tank shook. A couple seconds later, it shook again. Then again...

"Time tah git, BUSAEY, heheheheh..."

He deployed the Tick Tank, entrenched it in the ground in a matter of seconds. Just as predicted, a big yellow/brown leg appeared before his view. Aim, fire, fire again, repeat. Repeat some more. Repeat yet even more- DAMN, that's thick armour. Ah, there we go - the leg buckled. By now, the Titan had turned to face him - he quickly locked down his rapid firing turret, and braced for impact.

*BOOOM*

The tank shook like mad. Then the Titan lost balance and collapsed - Nod rocket soldiers were flanking it. The driver checked the readouts, most green, some yellow. He undeployed the tank, and the song's solo started playing.

"Awesome." he cranked the volume.

"I got your six, one-five."

"WHAT!?"

"I said I got your six!"

"WICKED!"

Moving up, he stopped to engage entrenched GDI troops (about twice, plus some stragglers), assisting Nod troops, until he eventually saw the Warehouse building.

"There better be some ammo in there- ah, dammit!"

GDI troops were near the corner of the warehouse wall. He fired some shots off. He couldn't tell if he killed anyone, but the troops were no longer present once the smoke cleared. He cautiously advanced, moving the tank very slowly, firing off shots occasionally near the location.

"You still got my back, dude?"

No response.

"Dammit."

He started to accelerate the tank. I'm gonna make it. Just keep your cool, he thought. He spotted a Titan turret low to the ground. It must be deactivated, repair crew trying to fix it, plus support crew, thats like, 10 people! Perfect, time to kill.

- - - - -

"Come on come on come on, lets GO MAN! COME ON!"

"There! Finished."

"Yes! Alright, scout out the area; the time to kill is now, but we don't want any surprises."

"Oh shit! Tick tank!"

The Titan pilot looked back, and all hope was lost. There was no way he could get inside the Titan in time to retaliate.

- - - - -

"Yes! You, are, finished, you Eagle ztyping morons. GOODBY-

*BOOOOM*

The last thing the Tick Tank pilot saw was a bunch of flying metal, and white light.

"Commander. The beacon is ready."
"Very well, proceed."
Light once again fills the vally, not as bright as last time, a steady and rhythmic white pulse fills the dead end as a brilliant halo begins to form, Slowly, but surely figures emerge, humanoid, dressed in combat gear with weapons that were strange yet at the same time familiar. They marched forward through the portal, before forming what any GDI or Nod soldier watching would think of as squads. These then subdivided into small four-soldier units, seperating to provide a defensive perimiter.

"Colonel Grant reporting, permission to raise visors for my men?"
"Granted, keep the filter masks up"
"Yes, sir"
"And by the way do we have any information on 'the ancient mariner'?"
"Negative, reason?"
"Was listening to an intel sample form rotation 1987, a group called 'Iron Maiden' appear to have synthesised a recording of 'music' under this name"
"Under popular delusions, 'Tale of the ancient mariner' crewman of water-bound vessel kills an animal known as an albatross which 'curses' the ship and stacks probability against them, also known as giving them 'bad luck', return to alloted task"
"Wilco, information recieved and acknowledged"

"Sir, Project #21 has arrived"
"Deploy and begin planetary reclamation, these fools have no idea of the fire they're playing with"
"The ichor harvesters are on the warpath, and they do not have the force of arms to halt them..."

The tick tank just exploded.... then GDI soldiers came running to the titan crew and their support team's cover. The Titan pilot was relieved, to say the least. He approached the first new GDI soldier.

"Hot damn! I guess I owe you a brewskee."

"Don't worry about it. So whats your status?"

"It sucks: we're disorganized to hell, as you no doubt can tell. Radio's crapped out, occasionally they work, but don't hold your breath."

"Yeah, I've been trying to reach command. We need some reinforcements, or an airstrike, or something that could get Nod off our backs. The intel was all wrong, this base isn't supposed to be chock full of forces. It's just supposed to be some shrine."

The Titan pilot noticed the new soldier's uniform.

"Wait, aren't you recon?"

"Yeah?"

"So, like, it's your job to scout out the area. Well, half our forces are dead, including my girlfriend... great work, you've done."

"Hey, ztype off, they had countermeasures."

"Countermeasures?! Like what? A stealth generator? Come on man, those only exist in the big bases."

"They could have a mobile one."

"... okay, now you're just making things up."

"Hey, I just saved your ass-"

"Fellas, please! We don't have time to screw around!"

The medic appeared. The leader turned on him.

"Don't you interupt-, hey, is..."

"Take one, cam awwn!"

"I thought you were out?"

"Hey, my crew could use a fix up, the suppressive team especially... you're not out of actual medical gear, are you?"

"Hell no. Don't worry, your crew will be up and running in a jiffy."

The Medic jogged over to the injured crew.

"Okay guys, I'm here to patch you up. Just hold still."

"Oh thank god."

"Ah, don't bother thanking him, thank holistic's healing crap, I forget what it's called."

"Holistic's?"

In a few minutes the crew's wounds were healed, for the most part. The medic wandered over to the leader. As he approached, the Titan came to life. It began to slowly rise up. The medic watched it closely, such a majestic machine of war, and with the new leg armor upgrades, it's pretty durable. The leader looked towards the medic.

"We're gonna scout out the outlying area,"

As the leader talked, the medic saw something strange. A figure was standing on the edge of the roof of the tall research building, which was just behind the Titan, which was still reaching it's full height. Oh shit, that ain't GDI.

"...and that rude bastard's gonna use the Titan's incredible view range to-"

"Sir! Enemy spotted!"

The leader simultaneously crouched & drew his pulse rifle, and whipped his head to where the medic pointed. The tall person jumped incredibly fast, throwing off the leader's aim. The person was falling directly above the titan.

"... oh you've got to be shitting me- what the? Discs! DUCK AND COVER!"

Suddenly energy discs were flying right at the leader and the medic. Both ducked, but the medic actually dropped himself to the ground on his belly, faster than the leader could duck, and that saved the medic's life. The leader, on the other hand...

The disk hit his chest, rupturing it wide open. The medic saw it happen. He new there was no way that wound was healing. Where in the shitstorm did those discs come from? There's no way that guy (HE'S BACK) threw them while jumping...

- - -- - - - -

The motion of ascension finally ceased, meaning the Titan has reached it's full height. The Titan crew was determined to fight on. The Titan pilot check out the readings. Everything was in order, ammo was half full, but it would be enough, fuel level was decent.

The pilot had a good view, although it was obstructed by half destroyed buildings. The Titan was located near the back of the base. The pilot pushed all worries aside, and focused on the view ports. And he couldn't have focused at a better time: a Nod attack cycle zipped into view- BOOOM! The little but dangerous bike exploded. The reloading sounds made the pilot feel good about his task.

Then he heard another noise, a thin thud, coming from the top of the titan. The pilot looked up- then looked waaay up, eyes wide, he heard a snapping sound, felt a short burst of pain, then felt nothing. He kept looking up, until he started to look backwards, then down, then his view snapped in the opposite direction, twirling a bit, and he finally stopped moving and came to rest on... his lap. He could see his legs in the sitting position (I love doing this:D). Somthing grasped him, and now he was rising off his lap, above the view ports, something was moving him. Now he rose out of the Titan's hatch, and suddenly accelerated forward. He was flying, and turning. He saw the sky, then a split second later the ground, then the sky again; he kept spinning and spinning, until-

- - - - -

The medic was about to get up when something hit him on the head. He panicked... but lived.

"Huh?"

He hoisted himself up with his arms- and stared into the face of the Titan pilot.

"AAAH!"

He scrambled away from the head with no body. WHAT THE ztype, MAN!? Now he really started to panic. Not fully walking, he scrambled towards the dug outs where the crew was, and fell in, banging his elbows, cutting off his breath.

"What the? Oh crap! Doc, are you hurt?"

"Hey, you better not be playing Frisbee with those discs, man. Heh, I tried once, almost lost my arm."

The soldiers helped the medic up, and the medic started to climb out of the trench. The soldiers looked confused, and they were about to ask him something, when a loud groaning noise was heard by everyone in the trench. Everybody looked everywhere, except up. When they finally did look up, it was too late.

"Oh, my, f- RUUUN!1one!!!"

The Titan was falling.

*THUD. CRASH! BREAK!*

- - - - -

The medic woke up, started choking up dust. He couldn't see because of the dust. He couldn't move, not only because he couldn't see (because of the dust, which was in his eyes and all around him) and didn't want to risk stepping on something sharp, but because he literally couldn't command his body to move, and all he could smell was dust. So he lay there, within the dust.

Soon, he heard footsteps. Slow, casual footsteps. A cheerful voice began to shout.

"No way! A medic? A live medic!"

The footsteps stopped.

"Man, I haven't seen one of you alive and coughing since the days of the gold barracks."

The medic could barely open his eyes, but he sensed the man crouching to his level. He picked up a scent other than dust. The smell brought on the memory of when he was hiding from Nod Flamethrowers, equipped with protective tiberium suits. While hiding, he watched them burn some mutated creatures in a tiberium field, and some of the tiberium was set on fire for a short time... how to sum that up- oh yeah, it smelled like burnt tiberium. Eh. I like the long way.

Anyways, thats what the new scent smelt like, although it smelled cleaner.

"Ever since I started hanging out with Nod, huh, I've yet to see a medic without a bullet in his/her head. Damn pro no-scoping snipers. Now, you may not have a bullet lodged in your brain, but you do have a freakin' Titan fallen over on pretty much your entire body. I think you're the closest match I'm gonna get, heheheheheh."

The medic's vision finally cleared... and what he saw was a man with a huge grin, revealing practically all of his teeth, and he had a cigar clamped firmly to the right of his mouth. There was blood on his face. He looked insane.

The man reached for the medic's coat chest pocket, and took out the last two syringes. He injected one into his vein, waited...

"Pfff, that's weak."

"Uhhhuh..."

"Look, I'm feelin' reeeal good right now, so I'll do you a favor."

He took the last syringe and injected it into the medic's neck vein. The medic started to feel drowsy, started to loose his vision... the medic falls unconscious.

"Sir, the project is prepared, we have an ion drain up and the decontamination plant is working at 98.32%"
"Good, deploy a growth chamber; we'll need more soldiers. Is the portal still active?"
"Affirmitive"
"Request some Model #27s"
"Model #27 Medium ground combat vehicle?"
"yes, and intel from rotation 1992, the one with section 'Two minutes to midnight'"
"Confirmed"
A small building had been set up near the sheer face at the end of the canyon, near where the strange forces first appeared. One of the soldiers disappeared into it, and after a few seconds the bright, rhythmic pulsing began anew.

Once again shapes moved out of the void, they were large, sleek and appeared to change from white to dark brown with their environment as they passed through the portal. They were strange machines, reminiscent of the vehicles of the Great World War Two but yet starkly modern. They stood roughly two and a quarter metres high, large, sleek turrets mounting a strange looking gun, akin to a conventional cannon with strange extra fixings; sitting on streamlined ane aerodynamic hulls.

Did they hover? Did they walk?
Neither.
In the future of the human race, tanks still roll on steel. These were the Panzers of this elite force, which fitted, yet did not belong. Thirty of these vehicles rolled through the portal before it was once again closed.
"#27 Medium Armoured unit has successfully transferred. Environmental camoflage is operable; permission to fire atmospheric test salvo."
"Granted"
The guns of the vehicles turned as one towards an abandoned shack just within view of the canyon. For abrief second, all was still; the guns moving very slightly as precise sensors made adjustments for ambient particle flow and mass attraction. This silence was shattered as the guns of the vehicles began to hum as if a massive current were being passed through them; this grew to a peak and then the discharge came. It was an un-nerving sight as the vehicles opened fire, not onlt the charging devices on their barrels were used, but an explosive charge too. There was a muffled boom, then a deafening series of cracks as the projectiles reached terminal velocity. Half of the shells exploded before impact, tearing the shed apart with high-powered shrapnel, the others used armour piercing settings, and made 15 neat circular holes in the shed, dead on centre.
"Weapons are operational, environment hasn't changed a bit."

White smoke dispersed from the canister. It engulfed the immediate area, which was occupied by Nod rifle soldiers and a Flamethrower, engaging GDI soldiers up ahead. The Nod soldier in the back spun around too late - he was blasted to bits by tiberium shrapnel.

The guy continued to mess around with the two factions. In the very beginning, Nod personnel died from his blades. Then, after obliterating that GDI infiltrator, he scaled the roof tops, and engaged targets of opportunity. He was especially proud of the Titan he commandeered; he managed to destabilize it, make it loose it's balance from the cockpit by jerking the legs in brief but awkward movements; apparently, you do have that much control over Titans, or at least that one, which had custom computers and stuff installed.

Armed with a shotgun loaded with tiberium ammo, he engaged this force, starting with Nod. Wearing a heat detector visor, he picked out his targets through the smoke. The Nod soldiers weren't holding out well, what with the GDI pinning them down plus the smoke choking them.

The guy dropped to the ground to avoid a Nod Chaingunner's spray of bullets, and shot him in the legs, causing them to blow apart. He got up to a crouch once the Chaingun's aim was thrown off, took two steps and shot him in the face point blank.

He decided to spice things up, and partially retreated, avoiding random tracers, then went around the side of the engagement, to the GDI flank, which was out of the smoke. He saw a GDI Grenadier get incinerated by the Nod Flamethrower, who was badly wounded but he still fought. The guy shot at two GDI rifle soldiers, the tiberium shards penetrating their sides, crippling them. The flamethrower let loose a burst of fire in the guy's direction, at the same time the guy was rolling out of harms way, right into a prone GDI soldier. The guy dropped his shotgun and pulled out his knife and punctured the soldier's faceplate - while doing that he simultaneously flipped onto the soldier's back, and headlocked him with the knife arm, and stabbed his throat. The soldier's struggling ceased.

The guy got up in a crouch on top of the dead soldier, and looked up right into the visor of the Flamethrower. The visor was half broken, he could see him smiling, the flamethrower thinking the guy finished. The flamethrower fired low, a split second after the guy jumped up, whipped his arm up, and the shotgun he dropped was chained to his forearm; he grasped the shotgun while reaching the peak of his jump, and shot the flamethrower in the face, ending his torching, which mostly just got the dead GDI soldier - the guy's boots just got licked. The flamethower took his time, and that gave the guy the advantage.

A patch of dirt beside the guy got kicked up; a GDI soldier, armed with an automatic shotgun, was approaching him. The guy bent over, mimicking injury, and waited just long enough for the gunner to think him finished. He let the gunner take aim, and then the guy rolled away from the gunner and the engagement. A pellet grazed his arm. A second later the gunner fired again. The guy continued to just barely evade the bulk of the shot's, and rolled into a deep crater. Wasting no time, he took a spare chain he had rolled up on his belt, about three meters long, uncoiled it expertly, and just as he saw the tip of the gunner's helmet appear at the lip of the crater, he whipped the chain at the gunner's face, causing the gunner to step back, afterwords dropping the chain. With his other hand, the guy lobed a frag grenade out of the crater. While he snapped his shotgun back into his hand, he approached the lip of the crater, and stuck the gun out and fired to the left, right, then he moved to the left of the crater, jumped out while taking aim at where he thought the- but it wasn't necessary, the GDI shotgunner was dead.

"For Kane!"

The engagement had turned into a brawl. Somehow, the majority of the combatants had been disarmed, so they started using melee weapons. The rest of the soldiers decided to follow suit; almost everyone switched to knives, and the Nod soldier who yelled drew a sword. They probably figured this was their last fight, so, hey, why not? This made the guy smile.

The guy made sure everyone dropped their guns. He ran and threw a knife at a GDI soldier's neck, who still had his pulse rifle. The smoke was starting to clear, so the guy ran and jumped through the combatants, saw a Nod soldier who still had his tiberium core assault rifle. He came from the side the soldier's vision, and cut off his hand, then kicked him down. He was about to finish him, when a knife carrying GDI soldier approached them, so he took off. The GDI soldier saw the Nod soldier, and with a yell stabbed him in the exposed neck.

The guy was having way too much fun, he realized. He had to be careful, be alert. He heard some slow, heavy footsteps, spun around, and saw a Nod cyborg approaching him through the last trails of smoke. The guy quickly whipped out a disc and chucked it at the cyborg's chaingun arm. The gun fired none of the less. The guy had anticipated that, so he charged slightly to the left of the cyborg's body, got close enough so that the right chaingun arm couldn't aim at him (he was basically past the minimum range), and jumped right before the Cyborg threw a kick at him.

While still airborne, he grabbed the Cyborg's shoulder's and pushed himself into a flip, and landed behind the cyborg. As soon as he landed, he did a 180, then jumped up with his shotgun; at the same time the cyborg turned to face him - what he saw was the barrel of the shotgun, then he saw static. The cyborg threw a punch, but he hit air, as the guy landed too soon. From below the guy shot at the face again, jumping when the cyborg threw a kick, then with one hand shoved a grenade into the hole made from the shotgun blasts in the cyborg's face, the shotgun let go of but still attached to the chain. With both hands now, he pushed him self off of the cyborg's shoulders and landed behind him. As he landed, the grenade exploded. The guy spun around and shoved some more grenades into any nooks and crannies in the back of the cyborg's body, as he wasn't wearing the cyborg armour that usually only commandos do. As the cyborg exploded, the guy booked it out of there.

Blood was everwhere.
On the buildings.
In the sand.
On me.
As i got up, i noticed soldiers shooting franticly at the smoke, at anything accualy. The momment became so frantic, nobody knew who was what or when.
I picked myself up, rolling out of the way of a passing titan.
Soldiers didn't seem to mind that i was standing in their way, it was as if i was nothing.
I walked out of the way, avoiding bulletfire, and attempted using my shoulder radio.
"*BzzzZt...Hey Chet, Wuzzup, thought guard duty was 10 hours long? Common man, i want my pay too!*" The radio squeeked.
"I was preyed apon by some nodies, and i'm in the middle of GDI and Nod crossfire, and i havn't got the faintest ztyping clue where i am!" i screamed back, trying to speak over the sound of gunfire.
"*Hey hey, looks like from what i see... your in Nod's Top secret base thingo. Look's like there is a stampede of GDI coming over your way man, don't piss em off, i see more than one Mammoth walker. Over*"
I got up and tried to run over a wall, but i was shocked, the walls were electrified. *Nice security.* i imagined.
I ran out, and fell down a small grate, landing in some old exaust pipe. but to what?
I wandered through, listening to the fight above, and saw a rocket silo. There was also a rocket, with a giant BIOHAZARD sign on it. A conveir belt was roling tiberium waste in.
"Uhoh." i wispered.
I ran back through, and climbed out of the vent.
I saw a gdi soldier pointing a gun at my head.
"Hey hey shiny. How's your soon gone life?" he was about to say, but he was cut off with a tiberium crystal shot into his throught.

(I know it's horrible spelling, but i was tired when i typed this)

"Baom Chika Bam, BAOAMMMMMAMAMAMAMA-"

"Dude, shut the hell down please."

"Down? Ooo, hoo, there's no way I'M goin' down. I can't believe a rookie even mentioned that to me!"

High above the land, two GDI Orca's were flying, fast approaching the once secret Nod base.

"Looks like we got here just in time. Alright, you know the drill... or do you?"

"You're damn right I do! Time to liberate our brother's in arms."

"Yeah, but more importantly, time to lay waste to this installation."

They entered the airspace above the base. The senior Orca pilot targeted a warehouse building, and fired off a rocket salvo.

"Death from above!"

- - - - - - - - - -

The target was trying to evade his aim. He new it wouldn't be around much longer. He fired, and-

"For ztype's sake, miller! You have got to be the worst shot I've ever witnessed! It blows my mind that you somehow got into this outfit, as you clearly are INFERIOR!"

Days past, time after time, he missed, again and again. Other shooters tried to offer advice:

"You have to be one with the gun."

"Lead your targets."

"Stop being gay."

"You better shape up- or DIE, recruit. Lance, show 'em how it's done."

"Yes sir!"

Finally, after months of intense training... after so many failures... he aced it. Literally. He became the number one sharpshooter.

"... woah... are you the same guy?"

"Obviously not, recruit. There's just no way someone of you're caliber *(dripping with sarcasm)*, could achieve that. He's obviously hired a replacement, to get through training. Why, thats got to be the LOWEST-"

As the trainer rambled on, in a blink of an eye Miller went from one position to another. A loud crack was heard, and a red fluid shot up from the trainer's head. Then the trainer fell.

"... hey. Hey! You can't do that!"

*CRACK!* *CRACK!* *CRACK!* *CRACK!* *CRACK!* *CRACK!*

Now only Miller stood. All other shooters were dead, except for the one that claimed what Miller was doing was wrong; he purposely only maimed that shooter. Approaching him, Miller responded:

"I guess you are as dumb as you look... *snickers* I can't do that- ARE YOU ztyping SHITTING ME?! IT'S IN THE DOCTRINE, moron! Writtin by Kane himself!"

*An especially loud CRACK!* *Then all brightened to white, until all was white, which lead to-*

- - - - -

Consciousness. And an explosion, right above him. The ceiling was collapsing. Now fully alert, waking from his unconditioned sleep, he rolled out of the way of the majority of the falling debris. After waiting for the crap to clear, he looked around - still in that warehouse building. Damn, how long was I out?

He looked for his sniper rifle, in the process remembering what happened before he got knocked out; he was sniping a GDI squad, then someone threw like a flash bang at him, or something. His rifle had dropped to the first level. He dropped down and picked it up, then looked around.

Most of the warehouse was in ruins, and he noticed many new openings. he walked over to one of them, looked in side, and saw a plethora of ammunition. He searched for something useful, and after a minute or two, found something incredible.... no... way...

He held in his hand two 5 round clips of the most powerful sniper ammo known to Nod kind... possibly in the world. He thought they were just a myth, spread around by other snipers, and Black Hand elites. These bullets are capable of... incredible feats.

The Sniper heard a loud rhythmic chopping noise above him. He looked up, saw a Nod Harpy combat helicopter fly over. It's about time, he thought. He looked down at his rifle, and newly acquired ammo. From this moment on, thought Miller, the Nod sniper, I, shall become, GOD...

... for at least 10 bullets. The Nod sniper got all giddy inside.

- - - - - - - - - -

"Tango down!"

"Shitstain smothered!"

"Cunt down!"

The Harpy exploded.

"Ha haa! Nod aircraft sucks. The only chance they stood against GDI, is when they stole & used alien tech! Their own tech sucks balls."

"You know, they could have built those Banshees."

"No way. They got it from that alien ship... aliens, heh. Listen to me, saying it like its nothing... yo, check it! That harpy's badly damaged - you know what that means!... or do-"

"Yes! Believe me, I remembered!"

"Then form up, bro!"

The two Orca fighters positioned themselves directly adjacent to each other, and the rookie let loose machine gun fire, downing the last Nod Harpy, before the senior Orca pilot could.

The rookie Orca pilot looked from the cockpit, glanced at the senior in his Orca; they were close enough to see each other. The Rookie raised one hand, parted the index & middle fingers like a V over his mouth, and stuck out his tongue repeatedly. The senior pilot flipped him off- then suddenly the entire wind shield enclosing his cockpit shattered, a bloody hole appeared right between the senior's eyes, and his middle finger got blown off. A long, thick smokey tracer just barely sailed over the rookie's cockpit.

"Unholy crap!" The senior's Orca went down. The rookie, transfixed at his now deceased fellow pilot's Orca, finally snapped out of it- and pulled up as hard as he could, just barely avoiding collision into a Nod building. The Rookie tried to level out, then had to dodge another building. An alarm started going off, someone had a missile lock on him. He performed many evasive maneuvers.

He was flying crazily, panicking. But the missile sailed past. Other alarms were going off though, and the Orca was very unstable. Then he stiffened as he saw that thick tracer again, although it shot below and past his Orca. A brief wave of relief *CLANK!* - but no, the bullet did hit something - it hit one of the clamps holding down a missile, letting it fall free from the Orca. The rookie panicked, hands twitching, and he aimed the Orca down - almost into a toppled over Titan. He started to pull up just in time, and the now detached missile hit and exploded on the ruined Titan, ruining it further, sending debris flying up, some hitting the Orca- then a body landed on the windshield of the cockpit.

"HOLY ztype!"

Now the rookie's view was half blocked by a GDI medic, who amazingly held on to both metal bars that held the windshield together, with both hands. The missile lock alarm went off again, and the rookie decided living was more important than staying here. He pulled up, allowing the medic more space to hold on to, and the alarm stopped... the rookie wasted no time and flew out of the base, away from any GDI or Nod forces, and towards the (seemingly), empty canyon. It was still too far away to even pick out any terrain details.

The medic still held on to dear life. The rookie was amazed. The Medic nodded his head at him. The rookie half smiled because of the odd situation, but he saw the Medic's rank, and saluted him back. The medic smiled back - and a bright flash filled his view, and his entire Orca shook crazily, making him do a barrel roll, which in turn made the medic loose his grip and fall off. More bright flashes - and the Orca and pilot were incinerated. The Medic was falling...

- - - - - - - - - -

Back at the base, The Nod sniper had switched to standard ammo, as he wanted to conserve the good stuff, the stuff that made him GOD. He was very pleased at his flawless aim work by taking out that Orca pilot. If only that dumb prick of a trainer saw that, he'd probably shit his pants. But that guy's loooong dead. Pfff, he thought I hired someone to pass, thats just absurd, and practically impossible. What a rube.

After clearing the surrounding area, he exited the warehouse building, passed a dead GDI grenadier, plus some other dead GDI & Nod soldiers, made his way across the base, all the while looking at every possible hiding spot for rival snipers- he spotted one, dropped, aimed & fired, killing it. Moving on, he rounded a building corner, and saw something different: A GDI soldier was aiming at a Mutant, most likely a member of the Forgotten. A second later, the GDI soldier's throat was shot through by a tiberium shard. Amused, the Sniper heard some shouting and gun fire, saw GDI & Nod soldiers backpedaling towards his position.

The sniper partially withdrew, and watched on...

**********THIS IS NOT PART OF THE STORY*********

Okay, I'm doing some character control transfers, if you guys want:

For Lt. Albrecht - as you probably guessed, the Orca was heading to your canyon, not having a clue it was occupied. He was shot down by your forces. However, since he was flying low to the ground, the Medic has a chance of surviving the fall. I wanted him to fall into some thick mud, but I'm giving you a chance to detail his fate. Do what ever you want with him, just remember that normally he's a pretty cheerful guy, always likes to talk back, and right now he's pretty much out of any equipment he may have started out with.

For Noscoper - the Nod Sniper, also known as Miller, has spotted your character. I'm giving you control of Miller. Maybe you can detail a duel between your character and him; you get to choose the victor. Just remember, he's sadistic, is armed with extremely powerful bullets (8 left, 3 in one mag, 5 in the other) and there are GDI & Nod forces approaching his and your character's location.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!"

"KILL YOU. I'LL ztyping KILL YOOOOO- UUUUH! Uhh...."

The foe's body hunched over, and the victor pulled his blade out from it, trailing blood. The body collapsed a second later. It landed on the ground face down with a thud, blood flowing from the wounds and into the dried soil.

Satisfied, the victor turned and faced the enemy.

*Deep intake of breath*

"WHO'S NEXT?"

The victor swung his knife around, pointed it at two Nod soldiers, both helmet less. One soldier grinned, the other grimaced, and glared in hatred.

"Next to die?! That would be YOU!" The grimacing Nod soldier replied.

The Nod soldier lunged at the victor, who stood straight now, knife arm down by his side. The victor, anticipating the attack, dodged to the side and reached for his new foe's knife arm - but caught nothing. The foe had also anticipated; he flung his arms up, plus, with every ounce of his control, tried to move to the side while in his mid air lunge. The victor swung his knife at the mid air foe, while the foe brought his knife arm
down. Both knives struck each other. All of this happened in a few seconds. The foe landed in a crouch and turned to face the victor - and caught the victor's thrown knife, inches from his face.

The foe stood with two knives, and both the foe and the victor charged at each other. While closing the few meter distance between them, the victor, having thrown his knife, had taken off his helmet as a replacement weapon. Their weapons clashed together, knife hitting helmet. Right after the foe kicked the victor's knee. Not losing his balance, but not expecting that, the victor quickly backed up, missing the foe's second swing of his knife. While doing that the victor prepared for the second knife (originally his knife) to swing at him. His preparations were correct; after taking a step the foe then jabbed his second knife wielding arm at him. The victor went to grasp the foe's forearm, but the foe pulled back his arm before the knife got close to the victor. The victor wasted no time, and bashed his helmet against the foe's first knife arm as it came up for a 3rd swing, and at pretty much the same time he also kicked the foe in the shin, HARD, harder then the foe's kick to his leg. The foe went down, but, as he fell, he jabbed his second knife again, and let go of it. The victor moved to the side, and the knife sailed past.

Once the foe was on the ground on his back, the victor slammed his helmet down on the foe's now one and only knife wielding arm as hard as he could, making the foe let go of the blade. The foe tried to kick him, but the victor dodged the attack, then stomped his foot down on the foe's knee cap, pinning it; simultaneously the victor smashed his helmet down on the foe's head. Then, with his boot still on the foe's knee cap, the victor positioned himself over the foe's knee cap, grabbed the foe's foreleg with both hands (dropping his helmet to do so), and pulled it upwards as hard as he could. After a few seconds, the foreleg broke, sticking up past the kneecap. The victor noticed the foe didn't scream. Surely that should have hurt? And then the victor felt pain; he was hit hard from behind, the hit causing him to fall on top of the foe. The foe grabbed the knife he dropped, and stuck in the side of the victor's neck. The victor yelled out.

The victor was then hauled up off of the foe, and thrown to the side, landing on his back. Clenching his teeth, the victor saw the other Nod soldier, who was still grinning at him, and holding a knife, HIS knife. He must have come behind him and hit him.

"Good catch." Said the foe, who was sitting up and snapping his foreleg down.

"As always." The foe's partner coolly replied.

With great pain, the victor pulled out the knife from the side of his neck, and got up. He vowed he would kill those two Nod soldiers. He took a few steps towards them, while the grinning Nod soldier was helping the foe up. He went to swing at the grinner, but the grinner new he was coming, so after hoisting the foe up on his feet, he ducked the victor's swing, and headbutted the victor's stomach AND grabbed his knife arm's elbow, pushing it up, keeping it at bay. The grinner pushed the victor to the ground with his head, and as the victor fell, the grinner slashed with his knife, and cut off the victor's knife hand.

"G, D, I. Globally, defenseless, IDIOTS!"

The title of victor has now passed on to the grinning Nod soldier, as he finished off the GDI soldier with a missing hand. Yes, the GDI soldier had been reduced to the title of the GDI soldier with a missing hand. What a rube.

- - - - - - - - - - - -

The Nod soldier looked around him. Nod and GDI bodies were littered everywhere, the sounds of infantry/vehicular/aircraft warfare was still booming, but locally, there was no automatic rifle sounds, no grenade explosions, no flamethrower ignitions. Just some grunting, yelling, screaming and the sound of steel on steel. But even those sounds were
starting to fade, because, out of the two, one group of soldiers finally finished off the other.

The Nod soldier saw another Nod soldier finish off the last three GDI soldiers, all of them killed by the knife. The Nod soldier, previously a foe of an extra berserk GDI sergeant, tried to walk; his leg had gotten busted, but he managed to take a few, painful steps, and eventually got out into a slow stride.

Suddenly, a grenade went off, causing him to change his awkward walking direction. A GDI soldier had set off that grenade, as his last attempt to inflict harm on Nod.

The Nod soldier kept walking, towards a blown out building, hoping to find some pain killers, but he stepped on something circular, which threw off his balance and caused him to fall. He landed face first on the ground. Groaning, he turned his view to the side, and stared at a head, the same head of the GDI sergeant who broke his leg. The same head he stepped on.

"Hang in there, brother." A calm, familiar voice sounded.

His fellow rocketeer helped him up. He had a smile on his face, as always.

"Thanks, Mark."

"Anytime, Niel. Here's your helmet."

He put his helmet, as did Mark. He took a deep breath.

"So who's got pain killers?"

"There's some in that building you're headed to, as well as plenty of ammo. Also, I found our rocket launchers." Mark pointed to two heavy rocket launchers on the ground.

"I guess you're okay then?"

"Yeah, I think my leg's alright. It just hurts like a motherfucker."

"Yeah, and I'm definitely bleeding. So what the hell are we waiting for? Lets get to that building."

Mark and Niel, two Nod soldiers experienced with practically all forms of weaponry, and excellent at melee combat, set off to the blown out building, to ease their physical pain and injuries.

"That was a hell of a knife fight, eh?"

"Yeah. Too bad Samurai Conrad died."

"What? How the ztype's that possible? He had a samurai sword!"

"One word: Sniper."

"Oh."

Yeah...
"Sir, Variable geometry aircraft incoming!"
"Do we know their numeric base yet?"
"Base ten, sir"
"Ten? That's lucky; hijack the fly by wire controls, shoot off the rockets into the ground, lock out the cannon and bring him in."

Sir, our forces are all but decimated, save a few walkers.
They'll probably die soon without backup.

What!? The entire force, the LIVES and SOUL of the hundreds of GDI, all for nothing?! Oh gawddamnit!!!1

Mission Objective cancelled. Stay and brood over your losses, better luck next year...

No!!! This makes me RAGE!!!1 DAMNIT, I'm TAKING MAH GUISE, and we'll go in their base and KILLIN THEIR DUDES.

GDI Command does not approve this course of action. You are receiving a direct transmission, standby.

No!! ztype GDI Command! ITS BECAUSE OF THEM THESE SOLDIERS DIED!!!

This is a direct order: stay down. Punishment of insubordination is death.

No, ztype YOU!

*over the speakers EVA gives orders of lockdown and staying put*

*RAGE RAGE RAGE*

*Throws a grenade at EVA console, gets 1980s police dispatch radio*

Calling all units, calling all units!
EVA has been hacked again by CABAL, those orders to stay are 100% false. Find you way to sector CHJ-107 immediately! The fate of the war depends on you! I repeat, get to 107 in CHJ SECTOR! This is absolutely dire!

*throws several grenades to get the mood going. Chaos ensues*

...

20 minutes later:

Narration:
sector CHJ is just outside the GDI Base. There are a host of vehicles and mechs, a few damaged. The GDI mostly think its an attack by Nod or something, but for a few officers who are more loyal to command.
Still, this is only the forces of one base, a mere offshoot, limited to the influence of this one general.

After meeting, they trek back to the fateful town, where the slaughter was.
[/narration]

You ztyping Nod, prepare to die!
THIS TIME I'M COMING, AND WITH RAGE!
*throws a grenade at an obelisk*
*obelisk explodes in a fiery blaze right before it was fully charged*

Nod scum!!

"Looks like a bloody one sir"
"Justificaton officer?"
"Engagement in progress, same as before, lots of casualties for both sides"
"Shut it down, everything"
"Charging, in thirty seconds even the bullets in their guns will have fried, either they can go at each other with sharp objects like apes or they can go their seperate ways"
"I'll place a bet on the sharp objects officer, begin the charge cycle"
"Affirmative, also sir, we have deployed a complete forward base, shall we stabilise the portal and begin preparations for the fleet?"
"Positive, also use the recovered mass from the ichor to construct more weapons, we'll need them, I reccoment another #022 company, some #34 artillery units, some #42 counter-airborne weapons and a few new model #11s"
"#11s? They'll cost us dearly"
"A flying, completely undetectable vehicle with enough armament to take on every other aircraft on this planet? It is logical that it would cost us"
"Intelliegence indicates we would need 427 to subdue all airborne activity, sir"
"It was exaggeration for effect, trooper. Now process those orders"

The strange outpost, seemingly perfectly camouflaged, yet visible to anyone who looked had spread since its inception. The base was to become the hub of reclamation activities on this planet, a place where the cleaning of ichor and the education of humanity would start. They would be taught by seemingly identical beings, with a genetic code so close that many may as well have been siblings, they came from the same seed, just planted on different rocks.

At the center of the base one of the buildings opened, revealing a large, threatening array centered around a massive barrel, this huge apparatus twitched rapidly like an insect, adjusting for each and every gust of wind. Soon an unerving sound began, a loop of electric static that would have scarted the allied troops who fought against stalin's military, small charges could be seen arcing from an earthing cable at the bottom of the device, slowly, but sureley, metal segments around the barel began to spin, eventually settiling at such a fast pace that the metal semicircles seemed solid, then in a flash they were still, and a deafening crack was heard, nobody saw the projectile.

In the space of just two seconds it sailed over the vast distance between the outpost in the wasteland and the town, bursting brilliantly overhead in a sea of charged particles. The walkers stopped mid-step, guns fell silent and vehicles halted, the buzzing of the obelisks faded out and silence descended on the field, now it was the choice of men as to their fate.

"Status report, please." The leader asked casually into the comm device.

"Of course. The base is fucked, sir. However, GDI seems to have broken. The suvivors are scattered at the primary entrance." The info person replied.

"Survivors? Thats, un, ac, ceptable, sol, dier." The leader stated in a casual sing song like voice.

"I am fully, aware of that, sir. But we've got something planned." Sadistically the info person replied.

"Oh? What did you have in mind?" The leader started to smile.

The info person paused.

"The great... Obelisk, of light."

The leader laughed out loud.

"I assure you, sir, the weak GDI will be shown, the light..."

- - - - - - - -

"GO GO GO GO!!!"

Three GDI soldiers were running as fast as they could out of the Nod base.

"GET TO THAT MECH!!!"

The Wolverine's chainguns were firing non stop, although not too many Nod soldiers died, but they definitely were keeping their heads down.

"You're going to make it." The Wolverine pilot muttered.

All GDI forces were evacuating the base. However, they weren't giving up, so they were attempting to pin down the Nod base, and not let any Nod person or vehicle get out; they still wanted to do some damage.

The Wolverine was an advanced prototype; it was much more maneuverable than standard Wolverines. Thanks to this, it managed to sidestep and dodge a missile.

In response to the fired missile from behind some rocks, one of the three retreating GDI soldiers while running whipped three grenades behind him. 2 seconds later, those same three grenades appeared right above him; they landed half a meter in front of him, and between the two other GDI soldier's feet.

Shocked, the GDI soldier went "N-"

He tried to jump backwards, so when the grenades detonated, he was sent flying. He landed face down, and was hurt badly.

The Wolverine pilot saw what happened; from behind some rocks in front of the damaged concrete wall enclosing the base, a long chain was whipped be someone with good aim at the grenades. The chain deflected the grenades, sending them sailing back towards the GDI soldiers. The grenades had seemingly killed the three retreating GDI soldiers.

The pilot focused his fire at the rocks, hoping to blow it apart and kill whoever had done that to his fellow soldiers. Suddenly, the upper section of walling of a tall office building situated behind the concrete wall barrier, collapsed, revealing the insides of the building's top floors. The Wolverine pilot stopped firing, and stared. He was not feeling good. The pilot guessed that, well, Nod Engineers had been building... it, while the fight was raging on.

The pilot stared at IT, a big, red, crystal, atop a thick black stand. There was no doubt in his mind about it, he was 100% sure of it - Obelisk of Light.

"Those, sneaky, BASTARDS..."

The crystal began to glow red, and he heard an increasingly loud, humming noise. In preperation of immense pain, the pilot screamed and closed his eyes...

After screaming for several seconds, he ran out of breath... and noticed that the humming had ceased. Opening his eyes, he saw that the crystal had dimmed abruptly. He also noticed that his Mech had shut down. He tried the comm unit. Nothing. Tried the trigger. Also nothing. And he heard... nothing! Except for the wind, all sounds of gunfire and engines had ceased.

The Wolverine pilot felt even worse than before...

"Effect report, soldier?"
"Drones show signs that all weapons systems and vehicles are offline, they appear confused, bewildered and uneasy from vital signs of those in the open"
"Awww... Maybe we frightened them, the next step might exaggerate this. Fire the eraser"
"Eraser? That'll leave pools of reclaimed minerals around, sir. It's much easier to recover ichor in its pure form then break it down"
"Fire it, I want to show these squabbling little boys and girls how easy it is to fix their problems"
The great gun once again emerges from the central structure, the rotating metal parts repeating their never-ending games of catch before oce again locking still, this time the projectile left no sreak, just a blur in the air as if it bent light itself.

At the climax of its arc the projectile broke, multiplying in binary, 2,4,8,16,32,64,hundereds of pieces of shimmering light descended on the area, tiberium crystals simoply dissolved in the face of this rain, even those inside silos and under cover, the Nod war chest intended to fund armies simply dissolved into its original form, the silos were left filled with a mixture of metals and earth; useless to the Brotherhood as old refining methods of gaining ore from rock had long since been forgotten. Tiberium ammunition was left as sludge, firing it (if they had been able too) would have flung hot mud, causing minor burns on unprotected skin.

The message was clear, the sender was not.
"I feel we may have to enter combat soon, they will see us as invaders; we may need defences"
"Perrimiter turrets are operational, as are aircraft defences; from performance benchmarks of that craft they should have a success ratio of 76%"
"The pilot and his passenger?"
"When the craft was brought in they showed extreme stress and the pilot almost suffered a cardiac arrest, we are monitorig their brain function and have induced unconsciousness to relieve their stress and accelerate the healing of the passenger, who we believe to be a combat medical officer"
"Inform me when they have accepet are existance and overcome their mental blocks concerning extraterrestrial life"
"If they know of the ichor scout craft?"
"Tell them the truth, they will not escape, their curiosity will keep them. We gain nothing from lies"

He stood, and saw.

Where people were struggling, dieing, crawling, this guy was standing tall, watching.

The guy saw not a single person capable of retaliating. The guy loved owning stuff like that, winning, but he was kind of sad that it was over. No more perfect killings for him. But there was always tommorrow. Another day on this poisoned planet, with no one in control.

Except for himself, the guy hasn't met anyone as well placed as himself. Everyone else is either scared, or really angry, or just generally down. No one he ever encountered was happy with themselves, or their home. Except for himself.

The guy walked back into the ruined Nod base, looking forward to feeling good for the rest of the day. Many things made him feel good. In fact, almost everything he interacts with gives him a laugh.

While walking, the guy glanced at the office building that contained an Obelisk. He assumed the reason why it never fired was that GDI triggered a mobile EMP vehicle, or something, although he hadn't seen any; he had his head down when everything went offline.

After a few minutes, the guy walked near a tiberium silo... tiberium. The craziest thing to every grace Earth. The guy laughed.

Already filled with much energy, thanks to his internal body alterations, he smashed the door down, and walked to the tiberium, smiling the entire time.

"Tiberium give me strength..."

Then CHANGE. Immense change. What changed? Well, first the guy stopped smiling, instead he stared in amazment at what he was witnessing.

Something swept the glorious green away. In it's place... minerals, and assorted crap.

"..... What?"

Wait a minute, don't loose it. Already he could feel the good stuff evaporate, but he knew it, he owned it.

Regaining control, he continued to stare... and slowly began to feel bad again. WHAT? He thought. What the hell happened?

- - -

Screw it, I'll find another silo... but that was very weird.

Yeah, I love throwing a spanner in the works, turning all the tiberium back to what it came from was a brilliant idea =D

**KEEP IT GOING**

Struttin' through the ruins, he can't find a SINGLE SATANPRAISE CRYSTAL. He can't find any liquified tiberium either. There was NOTHING.

The guy's eyes started to twitch. Withdrawel symptoms? He thought that was a possiblilty. He had never been addicted to anything in his life, except for tiberium... and now it was all GONE!!!

He broke his stride,"NOOOO!!!!"

For the first time in a loooooong time, the guy was losing his control....

"It just doesn't make sense!"

The sky was starting to brighten... stuff was changing. He could sense it.

He needed answers... BUT HE KILLED EVERYBODY. Damn.

Still somewhat angered, the guy moved out. He headed towards the higher ground. Just walk it off.........

Some even stranger shit was about to happen, he could feel it.

When he woke up, there was no memory. He had no recent memory, be felt as if reborn.
One glance up, then a long stare; the sky was blue.
Not the usual greens and yellows from tiberium and ion storms, but now all is clear.

He looks around, and sees a desolate landscape. This was usual, not the least bit surprising.
But it was a different kind of desolation. No tiberium, veins, no cries of monstrosities and shiners. Instead there was metal heaps, a thick layer of debris as far as the eye can see.

All kinds of colours, earthy, metallic, and some yellow. No blue, although that was rare anyways. Most importantly, there was no green.

Even though this is what he fought his whole life to achieve, now he has a feeling of loss, emptiness inside. He tried to convince himself of success, but then it hit him; a great realization. He missed the Tiberium.

Disturbed, he tries to take his mind off it by examining the more immediate surroundings. His gaze shifted from afar to the vicinity.

Many titans, even more wolverines, some juggernauts and a few support vehicles such as HMLRS, disruptors, and APCs. All crushed, destroyed one way or another. The ones to my left seem to have been burned through by a great energy, tell-tale scars of the Nod's classic, most monstrous defense. On the derelict vehicles on my right were the wounds of explosive shells.

Before puzzled, now he regains the sense of time. This was the battle, the last stand. It was certain suicide he knew, but he ordered it as he was tired of trying the old way. Tired of the same circumstances, Nod winning, GDI helping significantly, but not enough due to the difficulties of approving action. The GDI spent more time holding debates and bickering over fine details than fighting in his opinion. It was too much he decided, and he will die trying for change, a new way.

Yes, now the details cleared. Looking carefully to the left again, were the obelisk scars presided on GDI vehicle remains, he saw darker heaps, ruins, clearly indicting that structures were once there. But no longer.

Then he recalled, it was too chaotic and any knowledge of how the battle was going. The last thing he heard was a huge charging. Static in the air, making it different from as the simulations have show; a much more ominous and dark sound he heard. The nothing; darkness then reigned.

The feeling reborn, the concern, then grew. The battle didn't matter. From the looks of it, they could have millions of obelisks, walls, even a GDI Firestorm, and the fate off all around would remain the same.

Why not him? Now he looked down. there was a hatch... rocket pods... railguns...

Railguns! Oh indeed it was his MMKII. Ruined all the same, not even it withstood what happened. Apparently he got out on top, taking a great risk, to see the battle progress as his communications were lost. But it was part of the reason he was saved; had he remained inside he would be crushed to the bone.

It didn't make sense; it explained next to nothing. There were many others not in vehicles, but gone nonetheless.

Now a great energy shook him. Checking once, it was not the EVA unit. That was broken before his escape he remembers. The energy is emitted instead through a red crystal. Yes, his Tiberius Cretinous charm, layered in ultra thin glass to stop its effects was where is always was. He picked it at the start of his career, found it on vienhole and swiped off the edge of his vehicle (then a HVERMLRS, so it was safe), risking life and limb for the dark shining beauty.

Rare and expensive it was, he kept it anyways, always near him. Somehow it did have effects on his life. Now, it saved him from death at the hands of whatever destroyed all else.

The crystal flashing, he held it. All the concern vanished. Now just new hope and action. Now he accepted the new reality.

Looking out again, but now he noticed red. No green, no blue, but red. He grinned.
