I'm having three issues with TI.

1) The bottom of the menu is cut off, it takes me some time to find the exit button.

2) This is probably my computer. When loading a mission or skirmish, it loads the first five lines then takes three minutes for the other three to come up. My laptops has 1.99gb of RAM which isn't much compared to most systems these days.
While I was starting a skirmish, I waited a minute or two then went and toasted some...toast. When I came back (only gone for two minutes), it was at the game over menu already. My bro says "I heard some unit lost."

3) Yeah noob issue.
That AI is piss-hard. I start a duel on a 2-player map against a AI 0. I can't believe someone said that they do nothing. They spam me with Hovees and Disc Throwers.

1. Go into Settings / Display and set the correct resolution so it fits on your screen.
You simply can't play the game with the default set 1280x1024 resolution on a 1366x768 resolution laptop monitor. Wink

2. never heard of this problem before. I fear it's really your pc, though the ram should be more than enough. Make sure you don't have too much other programs running in the background which eat your ram.

3. The AI is still under development, though i only play against hard level 2 AIs. I think i have to give the level 0 AI a test. #Tongue
However i think it's better to have a hard AI than a boring weak AI like in vanilla TS. Wink

Well, perhaps we could sacrifice the 0 level AI for less experienced players Smile

Currently I think the level 0 AI is probably close to as "hard" as the TS level 2 AI. Level 1 and especially 2 AIs are much harder than that.

After a lot of gameplay today, I must admit that AI level 0 is quite powerful. GDI spammed me with Disc Throwers, Railgun Tanks, and MLRS Walkers, while Nod rushed me with cyborgs, flame tanks, and eclipses. Us turtles like to have a good time without being spammed too much #Tongue

Wait, so the AI lvl0 in the new beta actually builds units?
atleast it wasn't the case in last beta. :/

Would there be a point in me releasing a second beta if there were no changes? Razz

Well all three AI modes shouldn't be hard, otherwise there's no point in 3 modes at all.

I like the AI level 0 at the moment. It's aggressive but it runs out of money quickly (-> its production gets slower) and its attacks are smaller than AI level 1's, making it easy to defend against them. While it might be hard for beginners initially, once it uses its extra starting money anyone should be able to win against it easily.

I just rushed 5 level 0 AIs in 23 minutes.

If you want, you could fix the subterranean attacks, which I have no experience of coding and which are broken at the moment for some reason. I haven't modified the normal TS scripts for those, but the AI builds the infantry and the subapc, loads all infantry to the APC, then unloads them instantly and sends only the infantry to the enemy's base.

I've got limited time now myself with some other projects and school, which starts again on 10th.

The new AI also needs a fix for the Banshee bomber so it doesn't builds more than 3 of them.

Eh, it also builds more than 1 Mammoth, so unless we fix that I think they even out #Tongue

Not really possible, because the AI builds multiple helipads and as such gets the cloning effect. When the AI builds 1 bomber, it can get 3 or even 4 of them.

The Mammoth MK II cloning bug is also hard to fix, because the GDI AI now has two WFs -> so when it builds one MMKII, it actually builds two of them.

The previous AI also built lots of bombers and even more MMKIIs than the current AI, and I remember it not being a large issue back then.

I don't see doubled units as an issue for the AI though, it just makes it perform better.

Isn't it possible to make the AI at least stop building them, when it has already 3 or more of them (or 1 in the case of the MMKII)?

LKO
1) Okay, fixed.

2) I always play without any other programs. In fact, this happened with the first beta too.

3) I just knew my non-legible comment would bring up a whole discussion. #Tounge

It's funny how Aro is the only one that doesn't really give a comment on it being hard at all. Wow, and if ARO can't beat 3 level 2 AIs at Black Swamp, then almost nobody can.

I'm sure that even if EA hadn't rushed Westwood through TS, ONE of them would have fixed the MKII cloning bug in vanilla TS. If say, you change the AI.ini from 1 MKII to 3 MKIIs, they will still attack.

Do you have a similar long loading time in vanilla TS?
It might be simply the result of the many new additions of TI (e.g. TI has more than 2 times as much terrain tiles, 2 times as much buildings and 3 times as much animations as vanilla TS)

I'm sure Aro could do it after a couple of tries. I recently played four games against 3 level 2 AI's on Black Swamp, lost 3 and won 1.

I consider AI level 0 easy as well (although hard enough for the inexperienced players who are meant to play against it).

Kind of, only it takes about 10 seconds rather than two minutes. I think this has been happening since I got TI. I have no modifications in my SUN folder at the moment.

Yeah,AI is quite hard on 0 because they can get double(TRIPLE!!!)production lines by building many barracks or factories!

One little tip:If you play as GDI,you must build 30+ disc throwers at the game start because they are effective vs infantry and vehicles.

And sorry for my bad English.

You'll never see triple production lines (excluding aircraft factories) unless the AI happens to get a second Construction Yard from a crate. Applies to all levels.

Just a note by the way, your TI directory doesn't have to be called SUN and placed in a specific place. The directory can be named anything and can be placed anywhere you desire. My TI directory is called "TI" and is on my Desktop for example.

I meant my regular TS folder. But now that you mention that, SUN has nothing to do with TI since it is standalone. My TI directory is called "TI" and is placed in a folder called "C&C Stuff" on my Desktop.

I just tried to play TI from an USB stick and it took a similar long time to load.

Thus i would suggest you check your HDD if it isn't too slow. e.g. If it's full to the last byte, or not defragmented in ages or simply a very old HDD it could cause the long loading times.

But, but, I love making pretty bases! D:

I can't make one when the AI spams 10 units every second!

There should be a -1 option... #Tongue
