Charon HoverTec Transport


Description:
Because Legion units are large, and the technology is possible, M-Tec scientists took an Hunter, removed the weapon systems, added larger engines and added a cargo pod. This new version was called “Charon”. It had only one task: ferry Legion units from and to the battlefield. Both the cargo pod and the vehicle are heavy armored, even more then the Hunter, to make sure that both the Charon and its cargo arrive at the destination.

Note: model and texture may change at any point during development.


Non-official comment: as with the Hunter, it has had various versions before I settled with this version. It is even more based upon the TS Orca Dropship then the Hunter. I especially took some ideas from the Orca Dropship's cargo pod and the way it's attached to the dropship.

Hmm, can we make transported vehicles attached to the bottom of transports?

I ain't sure. I thought I saw it in one mod, but that may be part of the original air model though.

Check out the Cold War Crisis mod. It uses the GLA bike logic to pull it off as well as some other logic. Of course, this is ripping, so you should ask them first.

We both have a firm grip on how to use Bike logic, it would basically be making a flying version of our IFV, but it would limit it to a very limited number of units to be transported, maybe even limitied to infantry...

Maybe Overlord contain? But what we don't want is for the transported unit to fire.

I think I'll stick with the current way, because using the Bike logic means you only have about 8 (or 9) options, and it must also be able to transport multiple units, which can't be done with Bike logic iirc.
