Cost: 2600
Prerequisite: Warfactory, tech center, Temple of Nod
Role: Anti-everything
Strengths: Powerful laser cannon, AA missiles, can self-destruct to create mass destruction
Weaknesses: Slow rate of fire, average speed

Cyborg Annihilator is the most advanced cyborg model Nod currently has at its disposal. Cyborg Reapers that perform exceptionally well in the field are upgraded to these monsters. Double laser cannons nearly as powerful as the fearsome Obelisk of Light, anti-air missile launcher, and advanced armor made from a special alloy that only Cyborg Commandos have had the privilege of wearing before. Despite all the firepower and technology behind the unit, it is by no means a match for the GDI Mammoth Mk.II mech. However the Cyborg Annihilators have an unusual weapon - the fusion powercore used to power the laser cannons can be overloaded on command, resulting in a massive explosion. When overloading is initiated, the upper body of the Annihilator separates itself from rest of the unit, leaving behind the exposed powercore and the soon-to-follow devastation. The separated upper body can continue operating normally, but the loss of the powercore makes the laser cannons lose much of their firepower, and the Annihilator is more vulnerable in this state. Care needs to be taken when using the Annihilator self-destruct attack, since a decisive enemy commander might be able to stop the powercore overloading sequence by destroying it quickly. Due to the extremely high technological requirements, only one of these units can be purchased at a given time.

Cyborg Annihilator disconnecting itself from the powercore:

The Swarm Drone didn't end up being as useful and interesting unit as I had hoped, so the Cyborg Annihilator has replaced it as the final new Nod unit. This unit should give Nod some more firepower to deal with all those new and powerful GDI toys Wink

That is Carno's Reaper, right? Btw, how did you this? Did you make it to deploy or something like that?

It's Suiseiseki's (Carno?) reaper remake. The unit deploys into the legs part, which then spawns the upper body with FreeUnit Wink

No. Carno and Carni are two different persons. Carno came from Carnotaurus.

Don't defy a veteran. #Tongue

Interesting idea, it reminds me of the Makron from Quake 4.

The powercore will retain the veterancy. I suppose it will explode even more violently if veteran or elite? #Tongue

The cyborg annihilator doesn't gain veterancy since it's a special unit and already very powerful. Same is true for Mk.II and Albatross.

A preview demonstrating the Cyborg Annihilator core explosion on an unsuspecting Forgotten base. Sorry for the largish file size.

Quite. I don't know why this is kept anonymous and it's not on the light together with TI, TO, RotD and TDotTA.

Wait a second... If you activate the self-destruct ability and the chassis is destroyed, then wouldn't you be able to build another Annihilator without the original upper body being destroyed?

(Or did you somehow manage to get around that, blowing my mind again. #Tongue)

Edit: or can you simply only ever build one.

I'm gonna guess you can build a new one, but the under-powered one is significantly weaker to a point where a horde of these things wont be a game changer.

Is anyone else in favour of putting this under the community spotlight?

This is true. You can build another Annihilator even if you still have the upper body left. But once separated the lasers lose ALOT of firepower and the unit has alot less armor. Two tick tanks can take out the upper body without either one dying. The upper body is mostly meant for defending the powercore so it has time to explode. Though it can still shoot at air targets and cross over water.

Also thanks to Deformat, Death Cultist and daviperdragon for your support Wink
