Errors adding/modifying buildings in TW
Greetings!
I have an error when trying to modify a building in TW. I'm trying to modify Nod Power plant so it looks more reminescent of powerplant from TibSun.
The new model is displayed in game but I can't select it, sell it or whatever, like it's not even there xD.
The files that are included in my mod are as follows:
MOD SDK\Mods\TSPowPlnt\data\Mod.xml
MOD SDK\Mods\TSPowPlnt\data\NODPowerPlant.xml
MOD SDK\Art\NB\NBPowerTS.W3X
MOD SDK\Art\NB\NBPowerTS_ASN.W3X
MOD SDK\Art\NB\NBPowerTS.xml
MOD SDK\Art\NB\NBPowerTS.tga
MOD SDK\Art\NB\NBPowerTS_NRM.xml
MOD SDK\Art\NB\NBPowerTS_NRM.tga
MOD SDK\Art\NB\NBPowerTS_SPM.xml
MOD SDK\Art\NB\NBPowerTS_SPM.tga
In NODPowerPlant.xml I have changed only the lines referencing which W3X models to use.
Does anybody know what I didn't do so mod behaves like this. Also if anyone knows a good tutorial about modifying/adding buildings in TW.
If you cannot select your building, then you probably have not made a selection box.
Check the GDI war factory sample art for hints & settings when it comes to making an OBBOX (selection box).
Animation:
You clearly did not attempt to match the coding of the build up of the Nod power plant, nor did you follow the advice of the documentation.
If you are following most buildings XML file, then your building model should be exported has a hierachel model (NBPower_ASN) & the animation is exported has a pure animation file (NBPower_AAN) that uses the skeleton contained in the heirachel model you just exported.
If you need further help, then posting the code of your power plant would help.
about the animation, I found what was the problem. I haven't changed the AnimationName string under the AnimationState in NodPowerPlant.xml. I've exported animation with the hierarhical model in the same file. (since it's solved, I removed the question about it from my post, but seems I wasn't quick enough xD)
I'll check that with the OBB, I didn't have the sample art pack for a reference on buildings. Thanks for the info... QUICK_EDIT
