Where do you get the textures for RA2 to add to your models in GMAX, or do you make the model then add textures in another program? Question

umm ra2 doesnt use textures for vxls or shps? well the shps do but you would need the original 3d file and the textures to get em. but other then that theres no way you could possibly get the exact textures they used for the shp models. You have to make em yourself.

so you just make a model in GMAX convert it to voxel or shp then "colour it in" afterwards?

for shp's... i woulnt make shps in gmax. but you can if you want it just wont be rendered. but you can make a a model and texter for it and export it and then imoport it into a different program for rendering.

and like what every one else has said there are no texters for ra2. you will have to make your own.

Well yes and no. For vxls you can make em in gmax, but you can also make the textures for em as well in gmax. and then when you use Vi_Pr's 3ds2vxl program it converts the textures with the model so the colors appear right away. Shps I would not bother with in gmax because you cant render em in there unless you export the model into a 3d app that can render. other then that, like I said, dont bother making shps in gmax.

I suggest anim8or for it all.Easier app than Gmax, and I have a fully rigged infantry template that only works in anim8or and it make making infantry so much easier.
