 Brotherhood Of Nod Infantry.

The Brotherhood of Nod has access to a wide array of infantry units. From simple rifle wielding foot soldiers to high tech commandos possessing exotic weaponry, the Brotherhood of Nod has it all. The majority of soldiers enlisted in the Brotherhood come from areas which have been harshly affected by Tiberium, they are people who have nothing left or nothing to lose. Thousands of soldiers have poured into the Brotherhood of Nod, being offered food, water and overall the promise of a future. Most of these soldiers are known as the Disciples of Nod and it's these who are the most commonly seen amongst the battlefield, basically trained and armed with machine guns, it's their power in numbers over skill and training which wins them the fight.

Of course, the Brotherhood trains it's recruits in many other ways as well. Having a significant infantry force capable of dealing with enemy vehicles is necessary, and that's where the Nod Rocketeer's come in. Usually, it's experienced disciples that train further in the Brotherhood ranks and become Rocketeer's. These rocket wielding soldiers play a vital role as cheap anti vehicle units.

Amongst the basic riflemen and rocket soldiers lay another interesting infantry. The Hell Spit is codename for the Brotherhoods flamethrower division of infantry. Prolonged living and expeditions in Tiberium Infested Zones lead to many dangerous encounters with Tiberium Lifeforms. Hell Spit soldiers were originally designed to fend off these dangerous creatures and mutations, as fire was an effective method of dealing with Tiberium Lifeforms, but it wasn't too long until the Hell Spits were soon put onto the battlefield. Now the Hell Spit is highly effective anti infantry and building unit. As expected, Hell Spit soldiers require special training and skill before they are given their advanced flamethrower weapons and usually derive from veteran Disciples.

At the top of the basic infantry command chain is the Elite Cadre unit. Since the betrayal of the CABAL A.I., cybernetic units where withdrawn and destroyed from the Brotherhoods infantry divisions. Replacing them are highly trained and veteran soldiers who have seen action in many major battles. Elite Cadre's possess powerful machine guns, nearly matching the firepower of which the Cyborg soldiers possessed, however they also rely on their great knowledge and skills picked up from the battlefield. The Elite Cadre can show how dangerous a properly trained and equipped Nod Soldier can be.

Development since the Second Tiberian War.

Since the end of the Second Tiberian War and the Firestorm Skirmishes, the Brotherhood was left deeply scarred. With a tremendous loss in territory, Nod was forced even more into Tiberium infested areas and being able to exist there, let alone train an army is a huge task. After a few years of dwelling in the harsh Tiberium environments, Nod scientists were able to create a Tiberium resistant material, which could be incorporated into many, if not most of the Nod uniforms and armors. It was only a few years after, that Hand Of Nod training facilities amongst the entire remnants of the Brotherhood were equipped with the new advancement. New technology however, was not all defensive. Nod scientists were also able to find a means to incorporate small Tiberium segments into their production bullets, and this lead to the creation of the (t)AR-212 battle riffle, most commonly used by Brotherhood disciples. As well as the AR-212, new sniper bullets and even tank shells were being experimented with and tested.

Survival and training in harsh environments was tough, and danger is always around the corner, whether it be in the form of a wild rampaging Tiberian Fiend, or an eerie Tiberian Floater. Unfortunately, many new Brotherhood recruits fell victim to Tiberium Life form related deaths, and this was more than discouraging for new comers.

A cheap way to settle the problem was training groups and soldier platoons were now accompanied by an experienced Hell Spit unit. Hell Spits were able to successfully deter opposing lifeforms with their flamethrower units and the number of life form related deaths dropped. Hunting Tiberium Lifeforms, also became good training for Hell Spits and Brotherhood soldiers.

In the Battlefield.

In the battlefield, the Brotherhoods infantry are relentless and determined. Many hours of Nod propaganda and "faith structuring" has turned basic recruits into a serious threat. Unfortunately, most time spent in the Hand Of Nod is put towards disciplining soldiers towards their superiors and commanding officers, rather than serious weapon training. If a recruit can aim and fire a weapon, they are ready by Brotherhood standards. Whilst this drops the quality and skill of Disciples and other soldiers considerably, the credits required training them also falls. Disciples can be recruited and placed on the battlefield very quickly and cheaply and another important factor is that the more basic Brotherhood soldiers learn and gain experience very quickly. Amongst the higher ranks of the Brotherhood lay Elite Cadre's and Mantis commando's (more info soon!). These are the veteran soldiers of the Brotherhood who have been through advanced training and battlefield situations, making them into hardened and deadly units. These infantry units show how effective the Brotherhood infantry can be via their skills and advanced weaponry and training.

A good Brotherhood Commander will make good use of the cheap cost and time required to train basic Nod infantry. The variation of ranks and soldiers means forming good platoons can be done highly effectively and cost efficiently. Another good trait of an experienced commander is to reserve higher ranked infantry such as Cadre's and Commando's for more important deployment purposes.

Man, the Elite Cadres are cool. I imagine a badass sociopath, who just likes to smile when killing his/her enemies up close, do some sweet finishing moves.

Nice info, a decent read.

You should upload the pictures to ppm. Unreliable and temporary filehoster are never a good solution for things like this. Wink
