One thing all TS modders seem to complain about is the fact that it is a 10-11 year old engine, and many of the functions are hard-coded and cannot be modified. I was thinking, what if we somehow managed to contact one of the former Westwood Studios staff that helped make the game? I know its kind of an "out there" idea, but why not try?

TS is owned by EA so AFAIK they couldn't really do anything even if they'd care (and I don't think they do).

I have spoke to a few of the programmers and just fired general questions about the games code base, information that is of use to me, not general modders.

Either use HyperPatch for TS, or move to RA2YR and grab Ares.

Or go learn Blender and grab the Spring Engine.

well if you do contact the former Westwood Studios. ask them if its possiable for CO-OP, becuase Rico and myself are thinking about G-police co-op. we already know that cnc3 and cnc4 have CO-op and/or/possiable to support the coding but if it can be added to hard code in TS that would be nice and possiable split screen play.

I take it, will be a no (given my experence). worth a shot anyways. BTW i'm not expecting positive reponse anyways.

I told Roco we should abandon the idea becuase its really not possiable ATM... then this topic turned up so i just had to ask.

if you mean with co-op, creating allies between the human players to fight against all AI players allied with each other, then this is already possible. (See DTA comp-stomp maps)

Is it possible to make some kind of Ares for TS, using code from the original, since it's the same engine?

All offsets are completely different between RA2 and TS, since they have different engines, so no. You would have to adjust the whole Ares main code to make it work with TS.
