I'm currently improving the modified artillery voxel I use for my Laser
Tank. I am making it look more different from Nod's artillery and more
like I think a Laser Tank should look. I havent done so much yet, but
these screenshots shows the difference between the one in the current
released version and the one Im working on.

*NOTE* The new voxel has now been updated.
Changed wheel & side color.

*NOTE 2*
v0.30 have a newer version than the work in progress shown here, so this topic is now obsolete except for discussion on new improvements.

What I do will depend on the poll results. (the poll will end sometime tomorrow)

the new version is nice Smile. If this hovers, it looks perfect, but if it's a normal tank, you should think a bit more about the wheels in my opinion...

It dosent hover. However, take a look at the Tick Tank voxel and see how
the wheels looks there. There isn't such a big difference. It is a bit more
visible on the Tick Tank... I can change it, however, and will, probably,
since it would look better.

hmm.. you should take a look at Zero Hour Screenshots of the new units... it should give ya some idea... I dont know what the unit is called in Zero Hour, but i remember something that shoots lasers....

But of course do not copy directly...

Also, I might customize my mod more by modifying the voxel for the Battle APC. It currently uses 1tnk.vxl, and it dosent fit perfectly.
I have some ideas on editing it...

1 day has gone, so the poll is now deleted. Option 2 had the majority, and 3 was number two. The replies also affected my desicion a bit.

This means that I will make some adjustments to the voxel and
change the shape of the voxel a bit towards tank style, (and more far from artillery) and probably do some changes to the laser cannon. Smile

Then I will try to fix my ai.ini and perhaps edit the 1tnk voxel.

I will begin tomorrow, since the clock is 03:54 here in Sweden right now, and even a fREaK like me can get too tired...

Oh, I dunno, I think the Laser Tank Voxel is already pretty good. Call me uncreative but from military minded kind of logic, I can honestly see a designer just duct taping a heavy laser onto an already existing heavy vehicle chassis. The support for a heavy weapon is already there, the space to replace ammo stores and recoil absorbers with an overly large power generator... It all makes a kind of utilitarian sense, really.

Hell, I can see a Titan with a laser slapped on its side, but since the Mod isn't to disrupt the overall feel of the game I never hope to put it up in the ideas/suggestions forum in SGC...

What I'm trying to say is that the voxel is already spiffing, but I won't stop you if you want something unique to a more than passing point.
