Overlay, structures, terrain objects not appearing in game
I have an unusual problem where the non-terrain information added by final sun doesn't seem to make into the game. In final sun I have a fleshed out map with trees, structures and bridges. In game everything is bare.
Could this have something to do with the fact that I used the copy whole map feature from a previous version for troubleshooting an error. (Caused by some trees.. god knows how) QUICK_EDIT
It seems to be happening with every new map I make.
I uploaded a test map.
Also ran the map on a clean install, there was the same problem.
Also reinstall Final Sun, still no dice.
Also looked through the text files, everything seems to be ok there as far as I can tell.
The test map had trees previously, however they caused a crash upon loading the map. This is really unusual.
my guess, you have an old corrupt install of TS which you don't use anymore, but whose registry entries are used by FinalSun. Thus FinalSun takes those corrupt files, instead of the ones from the working fresh installed TS.
Regarding your map, i don't see any TerrainTypes section. So FinalSun hasn't saved any to the map. _________________ SHP Artist of Twisted Insurrection: Nod buildings
It seems the starting locations are being ignored as well. Shouldn't that crash the game instead of putting the player in some random spot?

@Lin Kuei what is the terraintypes section used for? I looked through an older map of mine for comparison and did not find this section
What someone be able to play my map and let me know if the structures and overlay come up?
In MP, you can set on a 2 player map 2 humans and 2 AIs. The AIs are then placed on random locations on the map. This is a known bug, but it doesn't crash the game (except the total amount of players, humans+AIs, is higher than 8. The game simply ignores any AIs in online games when calculating the amount of players).
Though i only know this from MP and not from skirmish, so yours is new.
Normally all trees and other TerrainTypes are saved in maps in a [Terrain] section. Your map however doesn't has such section, thus no trees. No clue why your FinalSun isn't saving this.
I tested your map and had the same issues as you. No structures, no overlays, random start locations.
The problem is, your map has an incomplete [Basic] section with many keys missing. (There are several other sections missing too, like [VehicleTypes], which are usually saved even if they are empty)
Attached is your map saved and changed with my FinalSun, so it works now. (i had to copy the Basic section from another map so it is complete)
Do you converted a single player map into a MP map? I don't know any other reason why the Basic section was missing so many keys in your map.
It seems my final sun was not adding required [Basic], tags just as you said.
I transferred the [Basic] information from your test map and added to my original 6-player and it is now working perfectly.

I'm sorry I should have been more clear, I deleted the [Terrain] section myself because specific trees were causing the map (and the previous map) to crash on load. The [Terrain] section was missing because the map wouldn't load with it added.

No, that was just a test map that I scratched together to test the error and see if it was consistent with my previous bugged map.
