I emailed Graham Smallwood to thank him for his time spent on CNC and also show him a youtube link of Ares 2 and the project.

Think he misunderstood me as Ares creator Laughing but read below

Howdy!

I'm sorry I didn't reply to this sooner, it got sent to spam.  I have
an email rule for codebunnygames, but it looks like you sent through
codebunnyapps.  I'll tell my server admin (wife) to fix it.

Yeah, Yuri's was just me like you say as far as I can remember.  GEF
did do one amazing though.  He reverse engineered the cheat program
that reverse engineered our game.  The cheat disabled fog of war
without desyncing.  He was down watching _registers_ to find where the
insertion was happening.

As for team, Nox was being made at the same time upstairs, and they
were behind because [REDACTED] is the slowest lead programmer in the
history of ever, even in to his new job at [REDACTED].  Most of the
RTS team got pulled up there and we got left alone.  Best project
ever.

Anyway, your mod is so freakin cool.  Imma go post the link in our EA
Alumni FB group.  It is so awesome that people still play this.  That
video was just so nostalgic.  Especially the music; I used to play the
collector's edition CD full blast in my car to keep me awake on 2am
commutes.

Keep up the good fight.  Voxels forever.  And thanks.

Lord Graham Smallwood, Baron of Sealand

Haha, I take it the Sealand stuff is a joke (though it would quite easily be possible as well xP).

Glad someone got ahold of someone, I think it's awesome that [Lord] Graham actually liked the game and it's music. Wink

Maybe the Ares Devs can get some hints Very Happy

One of the programmers. Quite possibly responsible or at very least took part in tailoring the TS engine for RA2 and also might have done some INI stuff as well, atleast he a wrote crapton of comments in RA2/YR INI files explaining what various flags do (just search for ';gs' without the quote marks in RA2/YR rules(md).ini to see)

Graham Smallwood should be the coder who also compiled the final game exes.

Getting some insight would be interesting, but it might cause more legal problems than it is worth.

I did the same thing for a Tiberian Sun cheat which did map reveal and other things, a few months ago. Not exactly impressive in any way but then again they were Westwood programmers.
