I've followed the old tutorial but it doesn't seem to do anything for me.

Anybody know a way to make it work properly? As to how to make units scatter and flee from targets, always engage the bigger threat etc.

I haven't seen unit fleeing or scattering due to threat. Target selection is complex but is affected by TRN when
implemented as in the Deezire's tutorial. Higher value in ThreatAvoidanceCoefficient or AvoidThreats=yes still
works as is with or without it.

Granted, that tutorial's writing style is such that certain features are implied that are not really offered by the Threat Rating Node. A player's units will not autoscatter or flee due to the presence of a TRN owned by the player. These features are unrelated to it.

What the TRN does is really just what it says - it changes the way target priorities are sorted. This effect is mostly subtle so you may not have noticed it in-game, but I'm sure you can make it substantial and useful with the proper settings.
