So I finally got around to modding OpenRA & added some vxl units to RA1. All is working fine except that voxels have multiple shadows in multiple directions! I guess I'm missing something somewhere?

Show me codes. I guess you left a sprite-based render trait on the unit (is this release, playtest or bleed?) somewhere which still renders an additional shadow. While RenderVoxels do render shadow for all renderable sections, the light parameters are shared between them so that cannot cause it.

Latest playtest & I'm using a clone of the MIG code with this added:

Code:

   RenderVoxels:
      PlayerPalette:tibsun
      Scale: 1.8 #22
      LightPitch: 132
      LightYaw: 860
      LightAmbientColor: -0.2,-0.22,0,0,0,0
      LightDiffuseColor: 1,1,0.85,0,0,0
   WithVoxelBody:

Removing RenderSprites makes it crash.

Add a -WithFacingSpriteBody: to the unit. This removes the WithFacingSpriteBody from the inherited ^Plane and should fix the issue.

Oh wait, I looked at bleed. WithShadow is the cause on ^Plane. -WithShadow: onto your unit then.

Then you'll go mad, reaperr reorganized the mods since then to reduce cluttering - TS is now inheritance, inheritance everywhere! Very Happy

Well I can see it being useful. D-day has multiple variants of some units, having one set of code used by them all will save time & space.
