Crash [Solved]
Subject description: Helicopter with EMP weapon
Okay, my old HDD is nearly destroyed, so I have to rebuild parts of my mod - wich is months of work.
And now a crash occurs each time I try to give my EMP-Helicopter his unique Weapon. Even if I copy an existing one like the Maverick and give it a new name - to be clear, he could use it if the weapon is named Maverick but if I change it to Maverick6 or to EMPMaverick it crashes.
I have other weapon names like Maverick4 or CriveMissile that work but CriveMissile2 won't work on him.
I tried names without numbers, shorter names no effect!
BTW the warhead is used by a superweapon too and there it functions without a problem. Same goes for the Projectile.
Changing Ares to the last stable build did not help either.
Recreating the HVA or using fill useless holes or cubed autonormals did not help.
Solution:
a direct comparison in artmd.ini of the functioning and the malfunctioning helicopters showed that these tags weren't activated in the malfunctioning one:
UseBuffer=yes
DisableVoxelCache=yes ; SJM: this is a major cache hog
DisableShadowCache=yes ; SJM: this too

It couldn't crash, since you don't have an except.txt. Or you're too stupid to actually upload one. Knowing you... probably this latter.
If it would crash, then I guess it's due to that it tries to paradrop the GGIs through the weapon but either OpenTopped goes bogus due to the unexpected ejection either the paradrop code goes bogus for trying to paradrop actual passengers.

Don't blame me for not deducing that you have a corrupted voxel setup through a crystal ball!

Assembly knowledge + IDA Pro + disassembled YR gamemd. Let's say, there were longterm benefits of being an Ares contributor for a while.

Graion: In the first place I did not change it at all. After you told me that there is something wrong with the voxel or HVA I filled it up and used cubed autonormals and recreated the HVA - now it doesn't work with any weapon. QUICK_EDIT
