Object Exchange
Subject description: tool to change Buildings on maps into TerrainType objects
Just a quickly slapped together tool to convert buildings into terrain in a batch process, since needed for TI and DTA.
Installation: extract to any folder and start the exe.
Quick guide:
-add to the left the maps (drag and drop or via the button)
-write to the right the buildingIDs that should be now converted into terrain
-press start
the program will open each map, search for a building with one of the specified ID's, remove that building and add a TerrainType object with the same name on the same place as the building.
All the changes are protocoled in a separate txt file (same path/name as mapfile + .txt extension), so you can check/undo them.
Since terraintypes allow only a single object on each cell, there is a checkbox included to replace a terraintype object if the cell got already one.
Note: This is really quickly slapped together and roughly tested. Be sure to backup the mapfiles and also check the results.
Have just converted all TI street lights to terrain objects and everything seems to have worked flawlessly. You can check the results for yourself in the staff update.

yes, did that and a few other improvements already, to make this a "round thing" as i like to say in german (no clue if that phrase works in english too).
Though it's not yet finish.

I just tried this after converting CAURB01-03 to terrain objects, and even though I know precisely which map it is used on (AICHECK can scan all my maps for missing buildings) the program will not update the map?
where you place the exe doesn't matter.
is your game in c:\program files and has all maps write protected?
When you start the operation, the program will create txt files next to the map, which include a protocol of the done changes. If there is no txt file, there were either no changes done or no write permission to create such a file. _________________ SHP Artist of Twisted Insurrection: Nod buildings
