This service release improves stability and fixes nine issues like the crash on singleplayer startup that some machines experience. Also, a memory leak and some logic bugs that could lead to crashes have been fixed.

A bug that is not as critical but is still ranking very high is the broken SW.Range handling for rectangular ranges, which was one cell too wide in both dimensions and thus affecting more cells than it should have.

The announcement post is missing some of the lightness of the earlier posts. Let me fix that by wishing you some nice holidays (where it applies), and a calm and peaceful end of the year (where it applies). All others I just wish a few nice days anyhow.

I'm not sure yet what Ares will hold in stock for 2017. Its story that began in 2004 certainly isn't over yet.

I Hope you know Alex your kind of the Red Alert 2 engine's last caretaker and most people here hold in great respect.

Even as someone who doesn't use Ares at all, I appreciate the longterm commitment to such a project, and the discipline it takes not to go run off into the woods naked screaming about aliens in your head....

but GLA's Radar Van has a Superweapon like that of Yuri's Psychic Radar
