Is the selection box only hardcoded to be 1x2? I can't seem to find a tag to change width and height..if so is a tut available for exe hack?

Bittah would be the one to answer this as he applied the hack to DTA.
The hack allows different sizes, but then only 1 fixed size. There is no ini key to give different units different selection box sizes.
It's still only the one key IsCoreDefender=yes

Does that hit detection actually work?

And is this some thing that has/can be worked into RA2/YR? That would be a nice feature.

it's only the selection box that changes. The area to hit the unit stays unchanged.

Probably only via Ares as a new feature, as there is most likely no leftover TS code from this function that was added in Firestorm.

Normally the IsCoreDefender=yes selection box has a 1x1 size with a height of 2 or 3. The hack to change the size of the selection box was originally done by CCHyper for TO and I came across it when I was porting over their EXE hacks to the then newly released spawner. Since Morpher allowed me to use it, I just applied it to DTA as an EXE at the time, but nowadays the spawner is directly applied with all hacks as ASM patches, so EXE hacks are a thing of the past.

I could still provide the EXE hack if someone wants it though; it should only be a matter of changing the first byte to alter the foundation size.

Curiously no one mention the side effect of EMP immunity with that key on stock game so may not be as advisable apart from hack that takes it out as not always desirable.

The code to convert CloakStop can be used to add 7 additional booleans as CloakStop is a byte (8 bits) in the technotypeclass memory structure
