I am currently in the middle of the game as I post this, but what has happened is I was playing a 4v4 in my mod on a random map. And this seemed to begin after I constructed a Cyborg Core (all it does is provide a repair SW and acts as a machine shop as well).

So I built the Core, and everything was fine, when all of a sudden, crates started spamming everywhere (I have a mode where crates spawn in high numbers, but this was on a more ridiculous level, and I was only playing the standard "Battle" game mode).

What's more is that I start hearing the cash, armor, firepower, etc crate powerup sounds as if I were collecting crates, even though my units were doing absolutely nothing, and the effects were actually being applied! With that, my money started soaring endlessly, and my units are practically invincible, as the "heal all" crate effect is constantly being applied to them. The money is apparent in the screenshot, though the endless healing isn't.  What's stranger is that this is having no effect on my teammates, nor the enemy team, aside from the fact there are loads of crates for them to collect.

Has anyone ever encountered such phenomena? Even through modding, I can't think of a way I could have possibly triggered this myself.

I'd... still... post the codes... Must be something or two you missed or you used a flag which produces hilarious side-effects in combination with others.
But try testing the CORE again OFFline on a normal skirmish map first. It might've been on your friends' side.

Could just be some corruption in memory, which is purely a session glitch...?

Could be... Can never say for sure... At least, not if more tests are made with that machine.
But the error/memory corruption can be traced to Anims the CORE uses... right? I remeber reading on ModEnc that a loop of sorts would cause a leak...

Interesting, I literally haven't touched the Core since I added it in nearly two years ago, aside from adding on the SWs to it, but that was still months ago. And this was a standard skirmish, not online. As it turns out, my AI partners were also getting endless healing on their units by the end of the game, but NOT the enemy AI team.

It's possible this sort of leak/corruption was triggered by something in the RMG, seeing you can get some ridiculous results when generating random maps. For example, with Ares, I occasionally get a map with no starting positions on the map. It turns out to be playable with people starting in random places, but there's also no ore so a battle can't really progress long. I won't have the opportunity to play or touch the files for nearly a week, but I'll have to run some more tests in the future. If this is indeed something triggered by the RMG, chances are I'll probably never come across this situation again. Obviously it didn't bother me, it just had me really curious as to how it was possible.

The AI avoids crates though...

AI infantry completely avoid crates, but AI vehicles will pick them up if they happen to run by them. Even in the completely vanilla RA2, you can occasionally stumble across AIs with units from crates sitting in their bases.
