How does one do it? I've had to ditch my 3D work for awhile with a laptop that really can't handle it, so I'm delving into VXLs. I've run into a block already in that I can't make a more detailed, larger voxel than 255x255x255, and I've seen people obviously pass that limit, so how?

example model with little room to detail:

That is a nice one! I usually do Medium Size Voxels, but hey, to be honest, that model needs more details than just plain colors. That's a Great Start at Large-Scale Voxels Smile

What I do is create a medium sized voxel, once detailed I double its size via VXLSE then using the header reduce it down to a more suitable size.

Downside is that it becomes hella hard to add detail once it's size is doubled so best to do it all beforehand

You can't make a vxl bigger then 255x255x255, any larger & it will not render properly ingame with the parts past 255 getting cut off. You can find more information here

Your SR-71 isn't that big BTW, it look like it's only about 100 long..?

Yeah it's only 143 long and it's a bad example I admit, but even at 255 like your own, it's tough to add detail; I'll take it as a technical challenge where some real life things are just hard to make look good. Yours proves its still tough to add detail at 255, so I see I'm asking too much of voxels.

Thanks for the info!
