Does anyone know if Ares allows for a Chrono Bomb with area damage?

No, Temporal=yes does not support cellspread so chrono erasing units in a radius is not a possible presently. Your free to do visually usual damaging chrono bomb but it won't have any characteristic of actual chrono.

I think there is a discussion in the past they were saying expanding InfDeath to all TechnoTypes?

While that would be a nice feature in itself, it only quite replicates Temporal damage under the provision that an area-of-effect weapon deals enough temporal damage to "kill" anything it could possibly affect, or if we also get an option to make damage, well temporal, in the sense of "resetting a few frames after having been dealt" - because Temporal (with a capital "T") damage does not actually lower the HP of anything it hits - it either continues until the target is "killed" (i.e. warped away), or, if the attack is aborted, the "HP" of the target are reset to full.

Well, you can make some units (with higher health, according to your setting) unaffected by this bomb simply by custom armor

That's actually a pretty ingenious way of handling it. Warhead-determined DeathAnims for non-infantry objects, plus custom armor types, would allow a perfect replication of a "Chrono-Bomb".

Y'all just kind of went way over my head with the warhead idea.
I have not modded RA2 in years so im trying to jump back in. I had this idea before but when I tried to implement it I got a crash every time. Same with temporal radiation fields.

Hm, in any case, it shouldn't crash. What should happen is that the chrono effect only gets applied to the target of the aircraft, and to nothing else within the CellSpread of the warhead.

How about a weapon that in effect clusters into a bunch of small projectiles that have the temporal=yes tag but have a cell spread of one. Basically a cluster missle with chrono damaging clusters.

A Temporal=yes attack needs a firer. One target can be attacked by many attackers, but one attacker can only attack up to one target. And an attacker has to be a unit. Thus, no animation damage or something like that, and no multi-target logics like CellSpread.

Temporal "strength" and "damage" is not like normal Strength and Damage, or EMP and similar logics. The attacker (optionally with the help of supporting attackers) has to complete the attack first. If that process is interrupted, "Temporal Strength" will reset.
