Should C&C4 Tiberian Twilight be in the Official C&C Story?
Subject description: It all ended in C&C3KW right?
If Kane went through that portal in the end of C&C3KW, that should be the start of the RA Unverse, right?
C&C4 doesn't add up for me, because of what I've heard from a video called "Rise of Command and Conquer Redux"... So should it be in the C&C Universe or no? _________________ all my posts before 2020 were made by a 13 year-old, forgive these if you see any, thank you QUICK_EDIT
I don't know about the video you're talking about, but from what I can tell EA just ran out of money when they made C&C4 and just threw the scraps they had for C&C out there and called it the official ending (even though it was originally meant to be a spin-off arena game).
And even when you put that aside, the story writing between everything up to TS (Firestorm) and everything that came after is clearly very different, so it's better to just look at it as 2 separate stories anyhow. _________________ QUICK_EDIT
C&C 4 is an abomination to all RTS and C&C fans alike.
I say burn it and never talk about it ever again.
So no, it shouldn't be looked at as the true ending, or even looked at it at all, story-wise.
Gameplay-wise: rather interesting concept of re-using the mobile war factory we saw in FS and then never again.

Red Alert is a prequel to Tiberium Dawn not a squeal to Kane's Wrath...
Can't we see RA2 as the prequel to TD?
C&C Legos solved the continuity problem RA2 introduced.
Kinda.
I would've suggested RA3 as TD's prequel as Einstein doesn't exist there, but that would mean no nukes for Nod in TD and beyond. _________________ One and only developer of the Command & Conquer Dune "C&C D" mod.

Never liked the RA->TD continuity. Reeks of a retcon. TD presents itself in a way that makes it pretty clear it's occurring in an unaltered, post Cold War timeline that departs from ours with the Tiber River meteor impact in 1995. Convenient from a marketing standpoint to call RA a prequel, but executed extremely halfheartedly.
I mean, if you want to get down to it, EA owns everything about CNC. So technically yes, CNC4 is officially part of the CNC story. Does it fit even slightly? No, not really. And in my opinion, it doesn't really matter. Even the early CNCs had pretty mediocre writing and were extremely light on lore/world building. It's a series that stretches nearly a century, and of that, we have clear, unambiguous details on maybe a decade's worth.
The irony is that the least serious game of them all (RA3) is the one that has the most lore, with its lengthy unit profiles. _________________ YR modder/artist, DOOM mapper, aka evanb90

Well, Dr. Zelinsky was from the previous timeline, so he would probably know about nuclear physics, and invent the nuke for the allieds, who are protecting him
I might be wrong here but thats my theory QUICK_EDIT
