New program? Again?
Well, it's true. The INI Editor V2 is already being worked on.
The good news - I have not encountered any problems with it so far, and it will not require as much time and effort as AI E V2, because it has a totally different goal.
As you can see, the following features are already implemented:
- Code highlighting.
- Section tree, listing all items in a logical order (takes about 2-3 seconds, a perfectly acceptable delay).
- Object Inspector (review/edit any object visually)
- Tag Filter (lists all sections which include the requested tag, and inserts the edited code back into the file [all you write in this box will be reinserted flawlessly] ).
- Code completion (the program can suggest possible values for tags such as Category=, BuildCat= , etc. )
- Code templates (for example, if you type "newinf" and hit Ctrl-J, a new blank infantry section will be inserted so you don't have to copy-paste everything). They are fully user customizable.
What you can't see:
- Ctrl-clicking on a word jumps to [word], if it exists.
No longer do you need to look through the whole file when you want to, say, edit which structures are crewed. You just type Crewed or Crewed=yes into the filter, and voila, all those entries with their section headers are listed. ( Teaser shot #2 ) QUICK_EDIT
Will it have a function that will automatically remove unused sections (for example TSTW's rules.ini has a load of BS units that aren't even in the unit list anymore but their stuff is scattered throughout the ini ) QUICK_EDIT

I totally forgot, I figured out the CSF format today ! So you'll be able to directly edit the csf file in this program.
Idea dont know how you'll like it though... How about a feature that will take the name tag of a unit and automaticly create a name entry for it in the CSF? Or just call me lazy lol... _________________ No power is ever inherently good or evil. It is how that power is used that determines if it is good or evil.
