Where Westwood Got Their Tiberian Sun Unit Ideas From
So a lot of people know Westwood copies Star Wars to come up with a lot of Tiberian Sun unit designs but I recently came across the Rockwell OV-10 Bronco which looks exactly like the Orca bomber. So anyway let's try to find all of Tiberian Sun's references for their designs.
There's also a new bronco on the market that came out this year called the Bronco II
The Orca bomber copied the dropship from Aliens, and the APC is pretty similar in style too.
It Looks like they only copied the front part of the aliens dropship and it's bombbay. Besides that the entire back end of the orca bomber looks nothing like the aliens dropship. funnily enough the original orca bomber only had one turbine in the middle of it which is where it is on the new Bronco II.
All of these examples are pretty common designs seen throughout real life & fiction (I could name many other twin boomed aircraft like the Bronco & quadrupedal mechs had been used in anime long before they appeared in The Empire Strikes Back etc). So to state that these are the ones specifically copied is rather short sighted.
They obviously drew inspiration from many different places for Tiberium Sun's units designs. Which is a stark contrast to TD/RA1 where they did just simply used real life vehicles, names & all. _________________
