I'm using XCC Mixer to have a look at some of the vanilla game's graphics. I wanted to look at the buildup animations for some of the buildings, but...I can't find the .SHP files for the buildup animations. I've looked everywhere I could think to look, including generic.mix inside ra2.mix, genermd.mix inside ra2md.mix, and a bunch of other mix files (including theater-specific mix files). I can't find them anywhere, and I have no idea where they're supposed to be. And yet, they show up in-game, so they must be somewhere.

You didn't look very hard, the arctic art will be with the standard snow stuff, the non-snow will be in generic since it has no rubble to be theater specific.

Thanks a whole lot. Like I said, I searched everywhere I could think of, but apparently that didn't include where they actually are. I expected them to be in generic.mix, but they aren't. I didn't expect them to be in isourb.mix because I thought that only contained map tiles, and I didn't know how the XCC Mixer search function worked.

It's regex
Wikipedia wrote:
Examples:

   a|b* denotes {?, "a", "b", "bb", "bbb", ...}
   (a|b)* denotes the set of all strings with no symbols other than "a" and "b", including the empty string: {?, "a", "b", "aa", "ab", "ba", "bb", "aaa", ...}
   ab*(c|?) denotes the set of strings starting with "a", then zero or more "b"s and finally optionally a "c": {"a", "ac", "ab", "abc", "abb", "abbc", ...}
   (0|(1(01*0)*1))* denotes the set of binary numbers that are multiples of 3: { ?, "0", "00", "11", "000", "011", "110", "0000", "0011", "0110", "1001", "1100", "1111", "00000", ... }
