Can you show again your lighting setup? (light positions and type) It looks a little bit like the sun is in northwest, not southwest. But at least you now have the sun on one side.
I might also have expected the right claw to be a tad more darker than the left, but this could be also the detailed texture.

i think terran units would fit better in ra/yr than zerg, except if you have a plan on making a new factions for zerg^^

I actually added the Zergling to Yuri(Since he's weird like that)

but now, what is the sequence to the Ultralisk? he seems to crash my game everytime I build him...

Looks like its also the textures. The extra detail makes it look far too detailed for the other graphics in the game.

SC1 assets are under Blizzards copyright and not allowed to be made public available.
Since SC2 is 3D and the conversions are 2D, you can say that during the conversion from 3D to 2D the copyright loses its validity due to additional necessary modifications like lighting and material/texture setups which are personal changes done by the creator, but even then it's hard on the edge.

In addition are SC1 assets quite unfitting in TS/RA2 due to their different lighting (?and camera angle?).

You can't change the lighting on a 2D art. Except some ugly things like brightness/contrast/saturation/color changes.
Except you do some pixel drawing in the frames, you can always get the 2D original back by reversing the changes.
You can't get a 3D model back from a 2D rendered image.

On 2D to 2D conversion you can compare/check the pixel and prove they are the same or not.
On a 3D to 2D conversion you can still say, i modeled it from scratch to look exactly like the original and then rendered it with my camera/light setup.
No-one will believe you when you say you painted the 2D thing from scratch, pixel by pixel for all the hundreds of frames.

I heard the C&C Reloaded mod by FS-21 uses a SC1 Marine as an Easter-egg unit.
