New in this version is a couple of bug fixes:

* Fixed a bug in the encoder that could crash it at the very end of encoding an AVI.
* Also fixed is a bug which manifests itself when there's a sudden change in the scene brightness.
* Fixed UGM2VQA a bit so it doesn't refuse certain PCM WAV files.
* Added an optimization that should noticeably decrease compression time.

If you're having trouble with the encoder, I recommend running the command line version instead as it prints out some of the errors it encounters, as opposed to the graphics version which just silently crashes/exits.
In fact, if you don't mind not seeing what's being done, I recommend the text version altogether! Twisted Evil

That's it for now...  Cool

Huzzah! My VQA now works, all thanks to this tool!
I'm once again going to enquire about C&C and RA1...So you say this encoder is based on the one you made before. I am probably mistaken, but couldn't you put a toggle in the configuration file that sets whether to encode as old VQA or new VQA? I mean, from what I understand of your documents on the format, the biggest difference is the lookup table is it not? Surely its not too difficult to switch between two ways of doing things, especially since this encoder is based on your older one that did work with RA1 and C&C.

Yes, support for old VQA(TD\RA1) very needed!
How about it?

Glad to hear you finally managed to make a working VQA  Smile

Well, the encoder was based on the old one and in the process I removed all the code that worked with the old VQA specifics so it would require I put all that back in. Talk about work for nothing... Confused It could be done, though the encoder for the old VQAs could only work with image sequences (which needed to be 8 bit, palettized images) due to the very nature of the VQAs.
From what I've seen, most users would have a hard time figuring out exactly what to do...

I might put the code back in, although that isn't currently my highest priority. I'll first try to fix the AVI input so it accepts a wider range of formats. I've done some experimenting and it turns out that it currently only accepts 24 bit RGB input, so if you had an uncompressed AVI in a format other than that, or a codec unable to decode into that format, it wouldn't work.
