It appears that Command & Conquer 3 will bring the mobile construction vehicle back to the battlefield, instead of these evil dozer units that were featured on Command & Conquer Generals. The information comes from APOC, however, it's not fully confirmed.

I strongly disagree, I hated the dozers with full fired hatred and I DO NOT WANT THEM IN THIS ONE!!! When I played the demo of Generals, I became sick of it instantly for it's dozers and they better not be in this C&C game or i will totally complain!!!

Generals was already a worse game then and I expect this one to not have the same way as generals for I hate generals and besides, it's already vacuumed almost every single C&C fan from working on mods for other C&C games like RA2:YR and personally I hate that it did that, Burn Generals!!!!!!!!! #Mad #Mad #Mad #Mad

MCV make the game more strategic. If you have one or two points of failure (es. MCV and War Factory that can product new MCV), you have to defend them more. What is needed, are the walls. On Generals/Zero Hour, the abscence of walls make the game less strategic and more difficult. A general must study a way to break the defence, and no destroy the main building with only one rush. Too simple in this way.

Maybe in 'C&C3: Tiberium Wars' the MCV is like a Command Centre which distributes building units. Wink

Oh no you will totally complain!!! Yawn - like EA would listen to you.

I want both of them for multiplayer - You cannot complain if having builder units was the sole choice of a multiplayer game's host.

I think couse Generals is just a bit the modern life.
Tiberium series doesn't.
Red Alert series is also almost the modern life.

And probely is the dozer a new idea at Genarals.
And maybe they lately the know it sucks.

Thats way also RA didn't had a dozer and took a MCV idea like before (DT).
Then they just also put it in part 2.

So in the Tiberium Series will hopely keep the MCV.

thought this is only a hint, I'll live in the hope. Dozers/Workers were annoying, cause you could win your enemy just with 100 dozers, by building an impenetrable defence in no time. MCVs made the game more balanced...I think...

And it keeps the game true to its predecessors (not including Generals, it could have been a good game, but EA messed it up, like removing the Generals themselves before the vanilla version shipped, wtf?)

Read the article on Sleipnir's Stuff http://www.sleipnirstuff.com/forum/kb.php?t=7704. It says all about the stuff that was cut before the game shipped. It sounded quite good too. Compare the game with this stuff in it to what you have

The only good thing about dozers is the fact you can build a pletora of defenses and other building all at once and they gave free repairs to buildings.

But ALLL HAIL THE MCV!!!!

You mean they acted identically to how the MCV and sidebar did except in a slightly more realistic fashion with multiple buildings at once being possible which is annoying about the MCV anyway?
How can anyone argue with my view of them being an option between the two for an online match? Or are we so narrowminded we can't greet things to make the gameplay better?

well I think the dozers in general made the game fit the time period its in. On the battlefield, you dont have an MCV that you deploy and it magically turns into a Command Center and then you build buildings that magically appear after being prefabricated. You send your dozers and the Army Corps of Engineers to build your buildings and defenses. It's also more realistic because you dont have a liit of how far from your base you could build, like in real life. You may build your base inland from the coast of a beach for better protection but still build defenses on the beach to protect yourself. You don't build multiple buildings to leapfrog to it like the silo hopping in TS. so imo, the dozers made the game more realistic to conform to its storyline and time period.

don't get me wrong, I think in the true C&C storyline, MCVs are fine. that's what I like about the game, its futuristic and is a fantasy-like game. the fact is, in Generals, dozers just made the game fit its storyline and time period.

What storyline?

Yah I miss those walls and gates to. in RA2/YR you couldn't wall your self in with out dying of Atrition. All they were good for was protecting SWs and your conyard

I prefer the MCV myself, it also gives back a little the feeling of the earlier C&Cs.

Well I hated dozers and workers. They built crap way to slow, workers were always getting iced by everything and anything, and I couldn't do the finer tactics I have used over the years. I didn't mind so much when engineers were replaced by an upgrade for your soldiers. I mean one paradrop and I could own a whole new tech tree. But I missed my undermined Soviet tactics where I steal a building then plop a nuclear reactor in the middle of his base. By the time I sell the building I took his whole base is glowing and I can finish him off nice and quick. Or the infamouse MCV jacking. The point is you couldn't use alot of tactics with dozers that you could with an MCV.

Yes they will bring back the MCV supposly, but I read the game will be running on the Sage engine which CnC generals in running on, but of course with more improved graphics, but if CnC 3 online play is like Generals, its gonna be terrible the game always crashed after like 6 hours in game :-/

That's a built in feature to stop you dying. Honestly, who plays the same game for 6 hours straight. That's half the day.

Technically, that's a quarter of a day.
