in photoshop the opacity slide bar is in the layers window (window --> layers), dunno about PSP.

A wondow is opaque, a brick is not. its the level of see-through-ness, and yes that is the technical name for it, lol.

I thought it was the other way round, something you can't see through is opaque (like a brick) and something you can see through (a pane of glass) isn't

in psp there is a little track bar you drag for that on the layers toolbox
