Ok, this seemed to work pretty well on Tiberium Web, so ill start it here.

If you are receiving Internal Errors, then you may post the except.txt in this topic, but please, help me out by posting what happened when this occurred and if you changed something in particular and you dont know why it did this.

For those who dont know how to get your except.txt, when the game crashes and displays a message box telling you that Tiberian Sun has encountered an internal error, when you see this, quit the game and and goto your Tiberian Sun installation directory, there you will find a file called "except.txt" in the root folder, upload that file to this topic and follow the rules as above.

NOTE: I can not guarantee a fix or cause to your error, so please dont spam this topic.

I got this error when I was trying to play the Firestorm campaign. It crashes at the loading screen right after it says "secondary check of combat zone."

TechnoClass_GetOwningHouseIndex

The game seems to be having a problem getting the object its trying to load house/side from Owner=. This is more common in units, but buildings, infantry and aircraft apply to this.

I Got this one Whilst playing Twisted Insurrection. I Was playing a map that is a work in progress and I noticed that a bit of custom terrain had been turned completely into clear tiles, sometimes it does this, some times it works fine. Once I exited the map, I got an internal error.
I Also tried playing on another custom map and there where no problems at all, but before another set of custom terrain went missing, but it didn't crash when I exited the map.

I got this IE while playing just a regular game of TS, in which sadly my opponent (Through a LAN network using Hamachi) or I got disconnected from each other... So I was stuck fighting the computer... Right as I was setting my final defenses down around the computer, I get an IE Sad What would be the cause of this?

I seem to have a bug in my SP mapping contest entrance. I can't give you the map (or I would be disqualified), but I can give the except.txt.
AFAIK, the IE happens when I spawn several teams. Odd thing is: it worked before, but after I continued work on this map after several weeks of doing nothing, it gives this IE.

@LS: Error is with retrieving a house for the TechnoType (object)


@DG:The error is in HouseClass_IsAlly.

Thing is, i dont know what that pointer is, but its a part of getting the current TechnoType (object) to test if it is a ally or enemy.

ok, i got this error massage today, when i tried to load my mission savegame then error massage appeared, and wierd thing is it happen in every missions & even skirmish games, i really don't have any idea why it happens, since i'm leaving my TS modding for a few months. can you help me & tell me what causes this error?

If its a save game, its possible it related to the save game bug. You can find more info on that in the research or tutorials section

This bug pisses me off big time. It happens on the loading screen and an Internal Error comes up, problem is, it's very random, sometimes it will fire, sometimes it will not. Any help will be very appreciated.

P.S: If this is the same error DCoder diagnosed he mentioned it was a country / side issue, if so can you please explain further on it, so I have an idea what I need to actually fix.

howdy could use some help with my IE. Smile TS likes to crash in the middle of a game unrelated to units bing built, fighting, weapons issues etc. I have a feeling its terrain issues for those have been pestering me but the map still loads. an IE pops up midgame for no exact reason it seems. Id appreciate this very much thank you.

I seem to be having *lots* of IEs lately, and I can't seem to figure out why either. The only map I've really tested my mod on was FS Phoenix by Muldrake, but it consistently causes IEs about 10+ minutes into the game.

the CS:EIP (006717CB) indicates that you fired a Laser beam which crossed the southern border of the screen.

This is commonly known as the WaveClass Error and happens in vanilla TS too.
You can find a ddraw.dll here, which fixes the problem on most PCs by simply copying it into your TS folder.

Oh, my. I seem to have broken the world.

See, everything was working fine, just a bit ago. But, now, for some odd reason, I get an IE when I build a NOD Laser Turret. The strange thing is, even though I'm editing and tinkering with things, I haven't once edited anything related to the Laser Turret. Not the turret itself, not the weapon, not the projectile, and not the warhead. I haven't even added/cloned any weapons with Laser effects. I did download that DLL file mentioned before, but I still get the error. I've reproduced this error about six times. Here's my error log. I hope someone can help. Thank you, all, for your time and insight.

I don't know the CS:EIP, but your described problem can also happen if you have a messed up mix file. If you've added new mix files, remove them and create them again.

Also check for typos on the building before and after the laser turret in your rules.ini.
e.g. a forgotten [-bracket on the building after the laser turret can mess up the laser turret too. (the same is true for both art.ini and rules.ini Wink )

Well, I tried replacing the MIX files, I checked my INI's.. zilch. There was nothing I could find on "either side" of NALASR's entry that might have caused the error. I didn't touch those entries, either.. and I checked several entries "up" and "down."

As for the two MIX files, one contains sounds (none of the sounds changed for the Lasers), the other contains units (some real-worldy units, again, I didn't alter NALASR or, really, any buildings). I tried rebuilding both, and nothing.

Perhaps I should mention that I tinkered with ai.ini, and sounds01.ini as well (so the computer would use my new units, and to properly catalogue the weapon sounds).

Would you care to have a look at my INI files? Maybe you'll see something I didn't?

This modifying is only being done for my own personal enjoyment, but it's a bugger I can't figure out what's wrong. I appreciate the help.

DISREGARD THAT! I SUCK TIBERIUM!

It WAS a corrupted MIX file. local.mix - I'd completely forgotten that I'd "fixed" it (the Jeep/Hummvee voxel) until I thought about it when I thought about what units I'd added. Then it dawned on me, I changed local.mix so my Hummvee would show up. When I removed the local.mix, everything worked.

Funny the Laser Turret ended up tossing the error.

WaveClass error with a Sonic weapon. So far unfixable but this DLL could help if it doesn't turn your game into a black screen.

And Ion Ripple effect, but the laser waveclass error is an extra class, thought.... (which can be fixed if you set the details to low or medium)

The first one has come recently.

I have added several new graphics to the game and made some minor tweaks to rules and art.ini to accommodate these changes.

The second is old, and was a result of an online game. I have no idea what caused it, as far as I know, there are no missing weapons, etc.

except.txt is a bad except. The EIP is well outside the usable range. I have to assume ETS is in use here and have to chalk it up to that.

except2.txt points to a drawing routine; specifically AlphaZReadWrite_Draw. Not quite sure what that means exactly but it SOUNDS like an alpha light source.

Hyper would know on that.

I don't have ETS in use. I narrowed down the cause of the error to a specific building. (ETS is way too unstable)

Your first except is not to do with ETS, just garbage.

I cant do much until my internet is online, what could be 2 weeks 0_o
