Jumpjet Soldier

Unit Stats
Strength: Low -> Medium
Weapon: Gattling Cannon
Advanced Weapon: N/A
Speed: Medium -> Fast
Requires: GDI Radar

Description:
Jumpjet soldiers are GDI's heavy assault infantry. Armed with a heavy machine gun, Jumpjet Soldiers pack some serious fire power against other infantry and lightly armoured vehicles. With the use of specialized jet packs, JumpJet soldiers can quickly traverse terrain obstacles with speed and efficiency, as well as having the advantage of attacking from the air. Whilst Jumpjet soldiers are relatively well protected from basic firearms, A.A. based weapon systems are a serious threat.

cant fully agree on that - but the medic could need abit more detail, yep.
That red box-o-health could be increased in size - it should make the medic clearly stand out the rest...

You do forget a few things:

1. Infantry in TO have been resized to have a better feel of scale as far as that's possible in a C&C game & engine... #Tongue

2. The entire TO team agreed that the colourful dudes from TS were not what a real army would dress like. No, even in futuristic settings with alien minerals, cyborgs and giant laser towers... Laughing

Well, the TO team can, well... let's not go there for the children's sake.

resized... i dont know what you guys have been smoking, but clearly SOMETHING gave you guys the false impression the TS engine even remotely supports proper scale without things looking like shit or being hugely unpractical.
and not liking colorful dudes is still no reason to use no more than 2 out of the 16.7 million colors available. 3 if you count the flame.

To put it simple - I disagree. I never made any influence on the Infantry, actually, since I focused more on building-concepts and a few tanks etc.
But Idnt have made it any other way. Theyre Cannonfodder, lets be honest about them. Who really cares about the look of those guys - plus I personally like them that way...

But hey, be it as it is - thats the personal taste I guess...

Yea they're cannon fodder, so you will be seeing a hell of a lot of them, this amounts to a lot of frankly ugly units shitting up your screen.

This isn't a 3D engine, good quality infantry have no detrimental effects that a high poly infantry would on another engine so there's no reason not to have nicer looking ones. I mean, you'll never get a realistic scale in the engine anyway.

The size is fine.

JJs can hit aircraft, right? Is it possible to give them another weapon against armor? Machine guns really shouldn't do much against heavy armor.

Or how about an alternate bomb like attack on structures; it wouldn't be a 1 hit kill like standard C4, but I think it would make JJs all the more useful; it would make them great hit & run units.

If you can provide us with better looking Infantry, sure thing. We`ll implement them asap.

Look guys, im not talking about anything related to the engine. You may be right with your phrase "There is no reason to have not better looking Infants", thats true, but in my opinion it is just not as important as it seems to me you think of them.

They could be better? Agreed. But there is no way for us to get better Infantry at the moment and honestly: Im fine with them. I know a shitload of games where Infantry looked way more worse and nobody ever said a word about it - Generals is one example.

Actually Chiel you'll be super happy to know that they don't consist of over 9000 frames! Very Happy =D Smile ! So feel free to have a good go and contribute something.

Oh before you make some none funny remark, I actually decided to change the medic because I agree with you, but I'd really prefer it if you decided to be bit less insulting in your criticism, yes I do know criticism is criticism and it is meant to be harsh, but I'd rather you actually help us in creating this mod which is after all for the public like yourself.

Hey Chiel, damn otaku, get out of your hormone-induced frenzy, we all know you're having your period, we understand. Wink

If I hear any more crap from anybody, any kind of post brought in an unfriendly way, I'm simply going to delete it without commenting on it and you can go ahead and rephrase and repost whatever it was.

Do not forget we're working on a mod here, afaik, we're not just doing it for ourselves, but for the community and to show our vision of what the sequel to TS should have been like.

We've been working on TO on and off for over three years, things have been hard on us, people have started new lives at the other side of the globe, been kicked out of home or had their computers burn out. Some people simply disappeared without ever leaving a trace. The project management of the core members is very good, but the people we depend on, the modellers and voxelers seem to disappear very frequently. #Tongue

DO NOT think we haven't tried to get new modellers, here's a list of all the modellers we've ever had (or still have in some cases):

    R-More-Men
    Gangster
    Shur
    Holy Master
    Area52
    DaTS
    Vef
    Donut Arnold
    LKO

That's a total of 9 modellers. Want to know what happened to them?

R-More-Men completely disappeared without leaving a single trace on the internet.

Gangster was kicked out of his home and had difficulties with getting his hands on a computer, let alone 3D apps. He cannot devote hundreds of hours to the project when life's so serious.

Shur donated a few models but once again has disappeared.

Holy Master also did his job but we cannot seem to be able to contact him.

Area52 is a very hard working student so she cannot devote all her time to TO, it's simply not feasible. She hasn't done TO work in a while, I may try to contact her.

DaTS has stopped modding altogether because he's busy with the start of his carreer in the US military.

Vef was kicked from the team after leaking a TO build.

Donut Arnold is working with us to make buildups and doodads. He's actually active, phew.

LKO is here to provide us with comments as well as very minor assets, he will not do major buildings.

Do you get it now? Do you grasp our intense annoyance with this subject?9 modellers in 3 years? I hope you do, screaming "the infantry need to be better!" doesn't get us somebody to make quality models and render them to infantry shp's, what we have are simple recolors, they are placeholders, true, but until further notice and unless somebody wants to spend a few days in the shp editor, problems with the infantry are pretty much the only things we cannot fix. Hell, do you want to play this mod? If you want better infantry you can wait until 2015... Confused

My thoughts exactly; I'd rather play the mod sooner, not later.

If we wait until 2015, DaTS will be playing his own Tiberian Sun, in real life.

I know my skills aren't too well known(because I like to hide stuff till it's done), but I am willing to improve upon the infantry after I am done with my current to-do list of neutrals and such for the Fallout Wars mod. This is of course assuming someone else doesn't do that before I'm finished.
