Dude, they sure have.

You can buy a Desktop package from local stores (in North America at least) the specs being like:

Intel Quad Core
3 gigs of ram
640 GB hard drive
dual layer burner
built in TV tuner
built in wireless
nVidia GeForce 9000 somethin'
sd card reader slots
built in CD/DVD holder (NO WAY!! Way...)
24" portrait & landscape HDMI moniter
wireless keyboard & mouse

All that shiz for $900, sometimes thats with taxes included.

By the time I actually need to upgrade, a similar deal could be on for like $700. Its insanely awesome.

Yeah, I actually don't have any porn on my computer, and yet there is only 6.6 GB of free space... that was before I installed DoW SS.

Now I have 700 Megs.

Program wise there is only DoW and Adobe Reader, thats IT! The rest are like 5 to 50 megs in size... must be all the hardware software to make everythig work, know what I mean? Suprisingly, the computer sill runs smooth and lag free.

So, yeah, if I was to upgrade my PC, the hard drive would the first thing on my list.

SANTA! I wish you hadn't been shanked; I could really use some free stuff right now.

You've mixed up your brands, fool. (Oh, and don't end a sentence in a preposition, n00b. #Tongue) It's my understanding that Caviars have had a worrying failure rate recently. "But Mods, the 1.5TB Seagate has had failures too!!1one!" Seagate knows how to deal with problems. They've issued a firmware update to affected models and are shipping revised ones without the problem that randomly killed the drives.

My Seagate 640GB twin-platter drive is DEAD SILENT. No exaggeration. My boot drive, an older 320GB Seagate, likes to angrily grind its teeth quite a bit during intensive operations and I hear it over ALL of my fans. The 640GB unit is not only quieter than an abandoned library even during multiple I/O operations, but also a bit faster. Neither drive has had a single problem since UPS dropped them off. Not one.

Tl;dr, Seagate is teh awesome.

Sorry to say it, but my new comp came with a 2.55 Ghz P4 and 147 GB of space, plus 512 MB of RAM straight from factory...Wonder why you didn't bought a 3 GHz Core 2 Duo...All the rest of the comp is AWESOME anyway... I'm gonna buy a new graphics car and a 2 GB RAM some day...

Because with that motherboard and cooler he can VERY easily overclock it to that frequency. Pre-clocked 3GHz models are quite a bit more money, anyway, and the performance figures don't differ that much between them.

This thread is wanting me to buy a new PC.

Too bad I can't do medical tests (over €1000 for three days work), since I smoke hashish at times.

And I'm not planning on lying to the medical tester. Don't want any unexpected complications like those people in Great Britain a while ago.

Heh, I got my current PC for 400$
Windows XP Media Center
2.8GHz Dual Core.
1Gb of RAM
ATI Radeon 1600 Pro 512MB.

Now obviously this isn't the computer of the century, but hey - better than the last one. Though, I do feel sad for loosing that one. But hey, sacrifices are needed, to get to the ultimate goal.

According to the tracking page Orca linked me to, the parts ordered have arrived at his house about an hour ago. There's also an indication that someone besides him accepted the packages, most likely his dad. There's an off-chance his neighbor accepted it mistakenly, though.

Edit; package received. Now he just needs the rest of it.

You'd do better with a P182 where you get better cable management options. But for now, put a fan up front. #Tongue You've also gone overkill on the graphics there. Laughing

hmm, my current specs pale in comparison.

AMD Athlon 4200+
20gb Master
80gb Slave (partitioned)
GeForce 6200 128mb Video Card
2gb RAM

I am however running Vista Ultimate very smoothly on it. Oh and my case is nice and pretty too. Smile (it's a mid-tower, so not much fits).

Who suckered you into that thing? Unless you run REALLY high resolutions, more memory on cards like that doesn't give you any advantage whatsoever.

You, however, don't have an excuse to have a crowded interior, not with that CM830 of yours.
