So I'm thinking about using solid colors for the terrain, which I can do two wasy. Either overwrite the olds one with new ones which would make the old maps look new (but probably craptastically), or I can just add the new terrain textures outright. So, if I release the pack of textures that i'm gonna use, would any of you guys be interested in using them to make a few maps, possibly for a competition?

The terrain textures will probably be limited to solid colors with different shades of green (grass), brown (dirt), grey(cement) and a few other shades for like clay, cliffs, sand, etc. I'm not sure what I'll do with water (would a solid blue even work?). I could also try to use the grass tiles from ra2 to make a texture, since it's bright and cheerfl, but ultimatley I think it would contrast with the solid colors of the units.

So, who wants it?

It would be best not to overwrite the old textures. And before making maps, what about some civilian buildings, trees, cars, etc. first?

I've got 8 factions to worry about, so civilian stuff is the furthest thing from my mind. I can do a couple of trees, but cars and buildings would have to wait.

A road tecture would probably be fairly easy to make too.

I meant that without those, a mapping competition would be a quite useless.
So it's better to wait untill all assets are finished. Wink
