Blowing the dust off this old topic. Me and some of the lads have gotten around to having some more online games.
For a long time we've been testing a possible game-mode called 'Crate Frenzy' which is pretty simple. You roll around the map and collect crates, all you can find however are units and unit powerups, you must hunt down your opponent and crush his/her forces with the forces that you find in crates (Online only of course). You have no bases, only one starting unit, the units you find in crates are determined by which faction you play as.

Here's some screenshots of an early Crate Frenzy game with Crimsonum and ErastusMercy.

There are certain units that can only be found in crates.
And here are two screen shots from other Comp-Stomp games.

Man I really thought with two Scorpion walkers I was gonna win but Crimmy owned me in the end. Laughing

And that last game was awsome look at the base we had I really feel cheated that the connection messed up. Sad

That "Crate Frenzy" mode sounds familiar, I don't know why though...

There was this RA2 newbie who wanted more than 255 crates at the same time and also made a map with crates that last only for a microsecond.
Maybe it's that what you have in mind.

I played my first TI online games today, most of them as ffa with Aro and Crimsonum, and in fact I ended up winning them all Laughing

they're blobs. Shards should be sharp.
Use less smooth auto-normals, and add highlights to one or two of the sides if you want them to look more like shards.

They've been on the replace list for a while, it's not going to be too hard for someone to voxel a blue and green Tiberium shard.

Do you people ignore everything I write? I just said that the shards are getting replaced and have been on hte list for at least a year, they've just slipped priority on our to-do-list. Don't mean to sound like an ass but I'm really stressed out today, don't even know why I'm still awake.

Following screenys are all from game in Delta City with Aro and Q45. It was very long one, and lasted far over an hour even after Aro's defeat.
Q45 spammed whole lot of banshees and kept taking out my wf's and con yards, and I had to spam railtanks to stop them, it was madness Laughing
