I changed a few frames for an existing infantry shp and used SHP builder to convert it back to an shp file. I chose red to remapable from the options. Problem is, now even the blood has turned to team color. Is this a bug, since it changes even the red color that TS does not use for team colors to team colors?

When you export an image as bitmap, JPEG, PNG, TGA, etc.. the program no longer stores the palette number of the colour. It stores the colour as a whole.

So, when it converts the image back to SHP, the program usually guess red colours as remappable, because remappable appears first in the palette than the reds.

The quickest way to sort this problem is using a custom scheme that transforms remappable into red. I'm attaching it for you here. All you need is to place it at the ProgramDir%/cscheme/Custom

remappabletored.cscheme

Remappable to red custom scheme.

as an alternative you can create your own palette with OS Palette Editor.
Just extract the unittem.pal and change the remap colors from red to blue or green. Now use this palette when editing units which have non-remap red parts, so the conversion process can't mix them up.

Could these new palettes be used in the game, without affect any of the other graphics?

Lol, this is kinda hilarious. When people are really into a thing, they say they bleed the colors of the thing. And now your guys are literally bleeding their team colors.
