I know there are already some Terrain tutorials, but I'm posting one anyway.

First:

Open Temperat.ini (I use notepad)

Now find " [TileSet0081] " -that is the Kodiak Crash. (It's what I use for my template)

(copy it and paste the copy below the K.C. entry, and make it look like this)

; My Custom Terrain
[TileSet0096]
SetName = My-Own-Terrain
FileName = mot
TilesInSet = 99 ;this is the max for each tileset
LowRadarColor = 60,40,0
HighRadarColor = 80,50,0
AllowBurrowing=true
RequiredForRMG = false

..........

Once you have done that, SAVE, and close notepad (or whatever text-editor you use) (make sure to remember the FileName= ??? [in this case ' mot '])

Next:

Open XCC Mixer and go into TIBSUN.mix -> isotemp.mix

and find " clear01.tem " and extract it (somewhere you can find it).

Then, open it with TMP Editor.

In TMP Editor ->
...Select the isotemp.pal palette (in the Palet menu...Palet->Load)
...highlight the row of numbers on the left. Hit Ctrl+C (or do Edit -> Copy)
...minimize TMP Editor

Now open Photoshop (or any image-editing software).

Make a NEW image (or canvas, whatever your software calls it).
Size--- Width:48 pixels     Height:24 pixels
..........
Now paste the tile (what you copied while in TMP Editor) into the canvas.

DON'T EDIT ANY OF THE BLUE PART! (not now at least)

Now edit the non-blue section until it resembles what you desire.

Now flatten any layers (if you need to). Then select everything and copy it.

Reopen TMP Editor and paste it in there (after selecting the line of numbers again).

Then save it as ???xx.tem [in the case of this tutorial 'mot01.tem' ].
The ??? will be replaced by the FileName and the xx will be replace by the number of tile. Starting at 01 and increasing...

..........

When you have done all of that, open XCC Mixer and place your .tem in your eCacheXX.mix (i use eCache10 for units and GUI changes, and eChache11 for terrain changes).

If you have done all of this correctly you will be able to use your new terrain in FinalSun for your maps and they will show up in Tiberian Sun.

..........

Enjoy & Please post with your comments and success stories and what I should add or change to this tutorial. Thanks for everyone's help. if you need any help just post here!

Editing the "blue part" doesn't mater, when you copy the image over to the TMP editor it will automatically remove anything in the "blue part" etc.

You also don't need to flatten any layers, copy merged (Shift+Ctrl+C) works just as well.
