I actually came across this idea on /b/ of all places. The basic idea is that you post the year you were born, the first game you ever played, the game that defined your childhood and the game that defined your adolescence. You can make an image, which was the point before, but you can use text if you like.

Year: 1984
First Game: Pitfall (Atari 2600)
Childhood Defining: Super Mario Bros. 3
Adolescence Defining: GoldenEye 007

Now go.

And if I had a game that defined my adult life it would probably be Team Fortress 2.

Tank? Ive never heard of it, and I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about retro games. You sure you guys don't mean Combat? Or Tank Plus? I find no record in my books on "Tank" (yes, I have books with complete lists of retro games for certain systems).

If you ever got a chance to play "Armored Assault" for Atari, that game is like the spiritual predecessor of C&C. Sure, you only control 2 tanks at a time, but its beast as hell!

I only played Super Tank/Battle City for NES/Dendy. Seems to be the same game, pretty much.

Okey, that explains it. I'm familiar with the port that became "Combat", as well as a Coleco stand alone device from the pong era which plays strictly
that game. Obviously it didn't occur to me that people's first games might be on arcade.

Adolescence Defining: Command and Conquer v1.06b

Yes, GoldenEye 007 was my first game (my parents were the ones who played it, and I watched. I remember sitting on my mom's stomach watching her shoot Soviets. I am probably the least likely person to flip-out and kill someone, by-the-way). SMB3 was my second. My childhood memories are of my dad playing N64 Nod Special Ops. 2. And my teen years are defined by the current version of Tiberian Dawn.

Year: 1997

First Game: Super Mario 64

Childhood Defining: Super Mario 64

I put it for both because even though I was only 4/5 yrs old at the time, I played this game non stop for years, it was my childhood game...until Super Smash Bros came out, hah, that one I played obsessively for more years than SM64.

Adolescence Defining: TS/RA2/Goldeneye

I'm going to say its a tie for this one. I stumbled across the WW games in my brothers closet, after watching him play for so many years a long time before that...I got big into those 2 games for a couple years. After not playing it since before 00, My brother bought Goldeneye. He left his n64 at home while he went off to school, so I started playing that every day after school.

Year: 1992
First Game: G-Police Demo (PC), Alien Legacy (PC) and Outpost (PC) - My dad got me all of these at once.
Childhood Defining: Total Annihilation (early on), StarCraft & C&C: Tiberian Sun
Adolescence Defining: WarCraft III & C&C: Red Alert 2/ C&C3: Tiberium Wars (replaced RA2 after it came out, for me)
Young Adult Defining: Mass Effect, Crysis and StarCraft II

After getting me those first 3 games, my dad got me some more demos (Dark Colony, Total Annihilation & StarCraft were among those), and later in the year, got me Outpost 2, Earth 2140 (I had to beg my parents to buy it for me) and Age of Empires (The game I had wanted for what felt like ages, but ended up not liking for being too slow), all 3 being RTS games for PC. He also bought Red Alert and Tiberian Sun for me after I had gotten StarCraft & Total Annihilation, in 1998. Around then, I also got a Nintendo 64 with Donkey Kong, but I had gotten it for Tiberian Dawn, after seeing the game in a store and playing it.
