EDF Mobile Iron Curtain:
Cost: 2500
Armor: Heavy
Speed: Slow
Weapon: Iron Curtain Device
Range:Medium-Long
Stolen EDF Tech, Tier-4 Advanced Support Vehicle
Stolen Tech units are limited to being built one per player

The M1389/MZhz5 Mobile Iron Curtain is the legacy of over 60 years of Russian and Soviet technological development.

The original Iron Curtain was a fixed structure, built to enable single Soviet vehicles to literally engage battalion size forces of Allied tanks near the end of the First Red War in the late 1950s. The experimental technology ultimately failed to turn the course of this war, despite its power, however.

The Soviets kept losing ground, and only a month after the fall of Moscow, Stalin and several of his top advisors, the Zhukov Iron Curtain Facility was destroyed by a massive air-strike by Apache helicopters. Shortly after this, the Soviets' secret mass-production facility for nuclear warheads was discovered, only weeks in operation, and captured. The remaining Soviet government surrendered only a few days after that.

Allied forces destroyed all but one of the remaining Iron Curtains in the USSR after the peace treaty was signed- this last one was taken to England to be studied, but ended up exploding following an improper activation sequence. The Soviets put their remaining vehicles and equipment in reserve- including all the data necessary to reconstruct the Iron Curtain. The neutral United States helped broker a deal with the Allies and USSR, installing Alexander Romanov, a supposed peace-bringer to the communist party.

However, there was no peace- only years after Romanov's ascendancy to premiership, the Second Red War began with the Soviets crippling the United States with a massive invasion, holding Europe hostage with a massing of nuclear weapons on the German border. By 1972, the Allies were pushing back the Soviet advance, and Soviet presence in the North Americas was almost entirely eliminated. By now, the Soviets had deployed a perfected Iron Curtain, which had a much larger radius of effect, lasted longer and could also be used to cause instantaneous death to infantry in the target area.

Again, it proved inadequate to stop Allied domination of the air, seas and strategic superiority with the Chronosphere. The Allies stormed Moscow in June of 1972 using the aforementioned device, and captured Romanov cowering under his desk in the Kremlin. The Soviets were forced to accept an unconditional surrender once again, and the USSR was dissolved.

However, unlike during the last war, the Allies couldn't move the larger Iron Curtains onto ships for transfer, so they stationed scientists and troops at each, coercing Soviet technicians to assist them in working the devices. The Allied verdict? The Iron Curtains were deemed "a curiosity, but certainly of little tactical or strategic value, given their area of effect and power consumption."

The new Russian government disagreed, and formed the BSP, or Bureau of Special Projects in secret. The Russian authorities deemed that the real short-coming of the Iron Curtain was strategic mobility, as the Iron Curtain had to be in proximity of the front-lines in order to cause any significant effects- which in a war of mobility, was rare.

In 1994, drawing on the reserve vehicles their Soviet predecessors stored away, the BSP began designing a Mobile Iron Curtain. The biggest problem the Russians had was finding a chassis to fit the micro-nuclear power supply and iron curtain device, as well as crew space. The chassis of the TT-3 Tesla Tank, T-45 Heavy Tank both proved inadequate. Towed systems were deemed impractical and overly vulnerable. The T-50 series Mammoth could work, but most were destroyed in the final weeks of the First Red War or made into static defenses following it. When all hope seemed lost, an underground bunker near the Zhukov Research Complex, apparently part of the old Iron Curtain facility turned up what the Russians needed.

What they found were old MAD Tank chassis, without the seismic resonance devices installed. The MAD Tank (Or Mutually Assured Destruction Tank) was originally a weapon of terror based off documents that the NKVD stole from Tesla's files shortly after his death, just before the FBI confiscated the rest. (in addition to plans and drawings for a "Electric Defense Tower" patent)
The original MAD Tank was built upon the heavily armored Mammoth, which was perfect for the job of the Mobile Iron Curtain. It is believed that by 2002, the Russians had atleast 5 Mobile Iron Curtain devices and was pedaling them to defense contractors and other nations for incredible prices, to help float the Russian economy during the early 2000's global recession.
Nobody was buying for the prices the Russians had set, although the systems were correctly billed as being the most capable anti-missile/everything shields on the planet, capable of stopping nuclear attacks.

In 2006, the Russian government dissolved the BSP, and the future of the Mobile Iron Curtain was uncertain. Only years later, the plans for the Mobile Iron Curtain were stored within EDF Technology Center mainframes, but were discovered by Russian EDF officials and wiped very quickly. Some tech analysts believe a well trained computer hacker can actually restore the data from the mainframes, if the Russian officials didn't do a thorough wipe of the data.

Battlefield Observations
>Unarmed and Dangerous- The Mobile Iron Curtain has no weapons of its own, not even a mere machine gun. However, the Mobile Iron Curtain's ability to render any structure or group of vehicles temporarily invincible means that it is one of the deadliest weapons to ever roam the battlefield.
>Armored- The Mobile Iron Curtain is based off the MAD Tank chassis, which was based off the Mammoth Tank chassis- as such, it's armor is incredibly thick and hard to pierce even to modern anti-tank weapons- a testament to the talent of Soviet engineers.
>Mobility Impaired- The original Mammoth Tank was underpowered for its size- the much lighter MAD Tank was still underpowered. The Mobile Iron Curtain comes in roughly between the two vehicles, heavier than the MAD due to the large power supply and lighter than the Mammoth due to the lack of a turret.

M.A.D Tesla Tank.

I always liked the idea of a unit with an iron curtain, the allies got the chrono tank, right!

Is the sphere remap, or just naturally dark red?
Other than that: Shiny Smile

I outlined the original circles in red. The sphere itself isn't a perfect sphere however. I willingly acknowledge that.

But for a sphere the size of the one presented, as you can see, there isn't much left to work with
