Traditionally, we've been turning Country specific units (and ra1 xpack units) and the few support powers found in the early red alert games into the General's Purchases. The Tank Destroyer, Parabombs, etc. However, Yuri presents itself to be a bit unique here as he has no expansion pack/country specific units, and beside psychic reveal, no rea support powers. He needs atleast 8 things to spend points on, so the question is what? Should we *gulp* make something up?

Rank 1

Psychic Reveal - Currently we have this granted with yuri's radar building as it was in YR, but it would make sense to make it be a General's Point Purchase. Would you mind spending a general's Point on it?

Brute Training - Not cannon, but the brute is considered by many to be a very useless unit. We've tried to balance it, but being able to traing them as veterans right off the bat could give them a boost in terms of useability. Combine that with the cloning center for 2 veterans for the price of one.

Rank 3

Emergency Repair 1-3 - This is a standard support power in General's, and although generic, very useful in a battle.

Psionic Commando - The unit in YR you get for sending a spy into Yuri's Battle Lab. Seems like it could be a good fit, nothing like a little C4 knocking at your door.

Cosmonaut - Yuri did build them that one level, so why not?...

Emergency Grind 1-3 - No idea if this is possible, but like emergency repair, only it turns units into money.

Viral Bomb - Offensive Weapon based off of the Virus' bomb that damages units it's dropped on.

Rank 5

Genetic Mutation - Depending on how we go ahead with Secondary Supers and whether this is possible or not...

Alien Invasion Confirmed - Sends in a couple flying saucers from outer space.

Leave the PsyReveal as it is, it works best from there and not as a general's point.

Uh, you obviously aren't doing something right with the Brute then if it's "useless" as it's the strongest scout in YR and has excellent anti-armor abilities.

I wouldn't add anything in with Generals Points that isn't a part of his tech tree. Upgrading his weapons would be the best result.

Emergency Grinding isn't a bad idea. It'd be the same thing as like bounty logic.

Problem is, the Scale of IC usually means that the tanks are able to devastate any kind of incoming infantry unit, by sheer numbers.

In that case it means the Brute ain't efficient enough Wink

I dont remember Yuri having any infantry in that mission. Could be wrong though.

No, if I remember rightly, the Cosmonaut wasn't buildable for Yuri. The Soviets just had them because the rest of their infantry were fucked.

If I remember correctly, you had Cosmonauts, Desolators, Tesla Troopers, and Flak Troopers to build as infantry.

But when Yuri buildings were destroyed, didn't they spawn Cosmonauts in that mission?

To end this discussion:
Sovs had Tesla Troopers, Desolators and Cosmonauts. All 3 are in an air-tight suit, so these are all logical.
Yuri had Cosmonauts. This because he had to have some kind of infantry, and none of his normal soldiers where air-tight suits.

I hope we can get back to the Yuri General points discussion before I have to split this...

I had the idea of making the mastermind weapon inflict some damage on the mastermind everytime he shot, and then a General's Purchase of having the mastermind self heal.
