I think I touched upon this briefly in my other post, but I was wondering if C&C3 coding allows for any kind of music selection and playback like they had in the older, original C&C games Tiberian Dawn, Tiberian Sun, Red Alert 1 and Red Alert 2. I don't know if it's feasible to insert a feature to allow a menu to pop up to allow this, but it would be nice. Or at the very least, it's another one of those things that EA conveniently left out when they started messing with the C&C franchise. #Mad Though perhaps unrelated, I want to give a shout out to Vado32, his music is pretty impressive, particularly the "Found Troopers" track, which I believe sounds a bit like a remix of Lone Trooper. If I'm naming the wrong track, please feel free to correct me.

I'm only wondering since the drop-down music menu was a nice feature for the games, and Frank Klepacki's music IMO is completely integral to the C&C experience. Besides Joe Kucan as Kane, you also need Frank Klepacki's music if you're doing a C&C game. Smile

Yeah, I was rather afraid of that. As I said, that was another one of those nifty features Westwood was kind enough to put into their games, not just C&C and Red Alert, but the Dune franchise as well I believe. Didn't think it would hurt to bring it up. BUT, I am happy that Carnius was willing to take the time to include tracks from the earlier C&C games, plus Vado32's stuff.

Guess that's just another feature we won't be seeing again thanks to EA. Mad

Eh, it's just be a limitation of the engine, and I can't blame EA for that kind of thing.

True I suppose Orac. I shall try not to allow my misgivings about EA cloud my future judgment. Smile However I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one around here that feels that way toward EA or how they gobbled up innovative companies like Westwood, Origin and Bullfrog among them. Mad

Hopefully they've learned from their past mistakes and will continue to keep a hands off approach with some of their recent acquisitions like Bioware. Er, hopefully...

EA has already admitted they mismanaged quite a few IPs, and is avoiding this in future developments. They had a CEO change and things are fine now. I'm so tired of EA bashing, at least they kept producing CnC.

Putting it ingame and letting it play randomly is possible, but having the Media Player (which OP means) like the old games had isn't.

In window mode,a program that check the game window position, and place a GUI at the center of it when some keys are pressed,to allow to choose some music,is theorically possible.Might be harder for fullscreen though.
