ive come across this problem i was trying to extract the w3x files
when i open static_common.manifest everything is fine but when i click on a file it gives me error saying "EFOpenError:Cannot open file C:users\XXXX\desktop\static_common.manifest system cannot find the file specified"

anyone know how to fix this? or if there is a better tool out there
Also im attempting to step it up and start messing around with 3D models
Also i want to extract and edit the animations from CNC3,KW i belive this are in .fx something? (cant remember right now) format and wanted to know how to edit them.
any tips from any veteran artists? Links to tutorials would be very much apreciated. or any kind of help in that matter. I plan to contribute to the community if i learn this

use bibber's C&C BIG EXTRACTOR and extract every file from static_common.big (or whatever the file name is)

Solved you literally meant all the assets #Tongue
well now i tried extracting Wolverine but all the files where in .asset format whats to do with that?

you open them in 3dsmax?

Use Bibber's Asset Extractor on them. That'll convert the stuff into w3x and textures.

use the latest version of ASSET EXTRACTOR, extract the sources of the texture, W3D Animation, W3D Collision Box, W3D Container, W3D Hierarchy and W3D Mesh.

Then use the "Katz's Make Skin program". Just drag and drop the whole folder, which contains the extracted source files, onto the makeskn.exe file which is located at, "\\makeskn\obj\Release". then using this W3x importer, import the model to 3d Studio max 9. make sure you have RA3 MOD SDK installed.

okay i got everything (ithink) but just one thing:
what is the Katz's Make Skin program suppused to do? i dragged and dropped the whole folder and cmd screen appears and it does something but idk what since it happens very fast
